HADECS3 cameras are usually mounted on the nearside support column of the gantry which displays the speed limit. It is physically impossible for them to take photos of vehicles before they have reached the gantry. They use a dual radar system to measure the vehicle's speed a short distance beyond the gantry and take photographs whilst the vehicle is within that area.
The photo which he has which is taken before the gantry is simply to provide evidence of the prevailing limit. Nothing in that area plays any part in the speed measurement process.
In the first photo, when it is greatly enlarged, under the first two columns of text in the top left corner, there appears to be two ghostly illuminated shapes. I cannot make out what they are but perhaps it is those which he considers to be the gantry under which he had just passed.
The OP is quite convinced he is right and that his speed has been measured before he reached the gantry. The only place to settle that argument is in court.
Honestly i don't know how the hell happen i was trying hard to respect all the speed limits. Still i recall the car next to me and the double flash and i remember we slow down before gantry and after this i overtake him and he never was in front of me anymore. My car its in speed lane and in in front of me its another white one.0 -

However, you'd have lost the option of the £100 fixed penalty.1 -
I wouldn't advise wasting a court's time. They've the ability to impose further greater penalties.0

But he will get the actual evidence pack (which will include a witness statement explaining the photos) before he goes to court.
