Not sure if I should laugh or cry as my event has been cancelled.Laugh until you cry? No, seriously, be thankful that you're not having to go out into the weather. Our amber warning has been upgraded to red so time to stay put.Exercise class done, long hot shower had at the pool, dishwasher emptied and lunch eaten. I've done a short express wash of my towels so now I'll have another coffee and listen to the end of my audiobook. It was the new Kate Atkinson / Jackson Brodie one read by Jason Issacs so it was engrossing.6 -
Yes, we are on red too. Stay safe5

Stay safe the both of you. We are on amber here and that's worrying enough. Take care everyone else affected. I have charged up everything chargeable and flasks and candles are at the ready in case of power cuts. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Camelot/Gers - we've been upgraded to red too here on the border with Scotland. All the schools are shut, no buses are running and no trains.
Oh and just had the emergency alert on my phone too!
I'm crossing my fingers that my shed doesn't blow over as it's on it's last legs.
Stay safe everyone x7 -

Stay safe everyone xThe siren sound made me jump! Was expecting it a 6.00p.m. but it came through at 5.50p.m. I'm ready for it, can't prep more so just have to keep y fingers crossed. I'll get up early and fill two flasks with boiling water to keep me going if the power goes off and before I get the woodburner lit.My thoughts to all those in the pathway. Scotland is officially closing!7 -
Stay safe all....

@IzzyBee - my sister's husband won't travel much either. So she and a group of lady friends have been taking all of the "author" tours. Here they did the Mark Twain one and the Gone with the Wind one as well as about a dozen others. They have Jane Austen tours and Beatrice Potter tours over there I know. She has also been on a couple of cruises with them where there have been the stars of old TV shows as guests. I traveled on my own for years before health got in the way, but I was too independent for some of the tours, though I did take a tour of each place the first time I went, like a Brendan tour of Ireland. It's okay to travel without the reluctant one, as long as you don't pick up a boy friend on the way!5

Stay safe everyone. Batten down the hatches and keep the flashlights handy. I carry one in my pocket when the winds come up. Been caught in strange places when I traveled so like to be prepared.6
