The heating bill wasn’t as bad as I was expecting and my account still has some credit .
I celebrated with an extra hours heating!
I always used to pay the WFA straight into the account and could generally relax a bit ,
just didn’t know what would happen this winter and got myself in a bit of a state ,especially as I am supporting DGS at uni as his father won’t .
going to quiz this afternoon and more this weekend ,must polish the brain !
have a good day everyone and hope Rob is ok12 -
Morning everyone off to do a cleaning job soon Camelot I hope little one’s knees are feeling less sore today they do like a limp bless her . SO how are you doing we haven’t heard from you for a while I know there’s not a lot happening for most of us with this dull cold weather I’m dreading the high winds we are forecast I always worry about the damage they can cause. I sent a email to the local infant school last night who put a post on about wanting volunteers to help with the children’s reading so I hope to hear back it’s only a hour or two a week it’s something else to fill my time in and I would enjoy it I used to help out when my children were young . I must have a Quick Look in the freezer I forgot to take something out for tonight but there’s plenty to choose from . Gers I’m envious of your cleaner and her travels I never had the money or the time when I was younger and hubby won’t go anywhere now so I need to think of places to go on my own . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Hi everyone,
Scarlet, Steve had that happen to his left eye during COVID. We ended up paying for the op because there was such a backlog from all the cancelled operations during lockdown.
We're looking after Nate today. He's got very decided ideas of our roles. He likes to snuggle with me and play with Steve. I'm not complaining.
The family have gone to Bristol to look at schools . They are house hunting but are undecided where to live. They like Bristol but it has it's drawbacks (distance from us and London mainly). They are also looking closer to us and obviously I'm hoping they'll end up nearer.
Have a good day.13 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
@Gers thank you for asking, I'm fine, just felt a bit down recently, no reason. Don't think these long dark evenings help and I haven't really seen anyone.
Going to the walk and talk this morning. Should be good as it seems quite bright at the moment. We usually stop for a hot drink afterwards.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.14 -
Morning everyone
Camelot I hope little one's knees are a bit less sore today.
Little one had felt a little better yesterday but is still very tired and on her feed as she's not eating much at all, hopefully she'll be ok to go back to school next week.
I'm not feeling well this morning so have come back to bed - I was fine till about 9pm last night when I suddenly got awful pains in my stomach and had to run! No doubt a bug shared by one of the children at work.
I got a bargain yesterday from our local Salvation Army charity shop, a lovely set of pine furniture for my bedroom...all for £250. They'll deliver it in about 10 days time and also take my old furniture away. I did some more sorting last night and filled another couple of bin bags for our Heart Foundation shop...I had clothes in the drawers I haven't worn for years.
Right, I'm going to sit in bed with my laptop and do some more research on Marrakesh.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all, it's a bit of a wet day here.
My GP appointment went ok, it was nothing life threatening but 2 more lots of meds have been issued. I believe it could have been all your good wishes that swung it. Many thanks for that ! While I was there my doctor decided to further investigate my leg pain which seem to have spread upwards so a blood test has been booked and I have the form to make an appointment for x rays.
On arriving home I met my friend with the cancer diagnosis, she's in a bit of a mess bless her and not taking it well. I offered her any help she needs even if it's just someone to talk to.
Today I have a small sm delivery booked with one thing OOS and one sub, nothing major though. I put an order in with mine for Dad too so we might decide to deliver that this afternoon as we won't want to go out tomorrow if the storm arrives.
I haven't read back yet so I hope all is well.
Arielgirl sorry I haven't yet welcomed you to the thread, apologies. Hope you like it here and stay, everyone is so lovely and supportive 🧡
Have a good day all, hugs to the poorly or worried ones.

Morning all. It's dry outside at the moment but cloudy with heavy rain forecast for the best part of the day, followed by strong winds tomorrow, upgraded from yellow to amber. I don't need to go out anywhere but I'll be making sure mobile and laptop are topped up and have a flask of hot water filled for cuppas.
Just one upstairs window left to do today, after that who knows? I'm sure I'll find something - there's always something needs doing. If all else fails, I'll have my nose in a book.I have a couple of thin slices of ham to use up so tea tonight will be either a ham & cheese omelette or a ham & cheese toastie with side salad.
Scarlet - I hope you don't have to wait too long for the eye op.
Remmie, I'd think the coconut milk would be OK for porridge, in fact anything that uses "normal" milk - apart from in tea!
Ruby - It's a shame Rob hasn't been able to visit his Mum, I hope he wasn't too disappointed.
TA- Glad you enjoyed your trip out, even better that you had a reasonable night's sleep.
SuffolkSue - Good news your heating bill wasn't as bad as expected.
SO - Enjoy the walk and talk today, at least it will get you out of the house for a while and you'll have some company.
Nanny - Glad to hear the GP appointment went better than expected.
That's it for now, have a peaceful day and take care. Thoughts with the sad and lonely, hugs where needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning alll...posting and running today, a friend is making an impromptu stop on her way for a cup of tea [ started off when I first knew her with sugar and really milky and weak, now drinks it like a builder] and a gossip. After that I'll get on with under the stairs again. Fed up of the downstairs loking like a jumble sale, there's stuff everywhere, which brings me back to treating each room like a container that will only fit so much...Nanny, glad your results were better than you thought.worried...let's hope they can find out why your leg hurts. camelot, aww poor thing, I remember those days well, extra sypathy required and treats obviously..dp1, probably oo scared to see her in case the muck things up more, could have given a better explanation though. SO, enjoy the walk but the cake and tea more
TA, congratulations on new teefs...Izzy, before long you'll be wondering when you had time to work
snoozer, fingers crossed for nearer! Sue, glad you had more than you thought...Scarlet, also fingers crossed for speedy appointments. Gers, good on your nail tech, you can never get time back so might as well do exciting things...remmie, if he won't eat it and you like curry, make a curry for you. Or use it in a cake mix instead of milk, scones? Ruby, what rubbish, wel done for going to above and beyond though, poor bloke is lucky to have you. Right, take care poodles and unpoodles...batten the hatches!

Morning all, I didn't post yesterday so thought I'd better, but haven't caught up properly so hope all is well with you all. Been busy from the off- Lypooch wet her bed during the night so the cover had to come off and got put in the washer. I've put the waterproof mat on top & under a blanket, but she'll probably scratch it all offNanny glad the gp appt went well.DB2 and SIL are coming soon, they haven't seen DH since CDay as he hasn't managed to get to a football match yet, which is where we tend to meet up. We called up at our friends yesterday for a quick visit.- haven't been since his op, but it's on the way to DGS school. Their house is quite isolated up a long unmade road near a golf course, the weather has wreaked havoc with it and it's very difficult to get to without damaging the car. Ours is a 4x4 luckily but still a bit hair raising. I do get concerned as neither are in the best of health.Yesterday morning was spent defrosting my small freezer, the others do it themselves but this one gets frozen at the top- I knew the time had come to do it when I nearly broke one of the drawers opening it, but it took ages to get the solid ice clear.Cooked beef from the freezer tonight.Hope Rob gets to see his mum soon RR,& poorly knees and LO get better soon.Take care all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. We've just heard that schools here are closed tomorrow due to the weather forecast.
Not sure if I should laugh or cry as my event has been cancelled.7
