Morning again, it looks damp and dreary as far as I can tell. Yesterday had a frosty start but I don't think it is frosty this morning.
Yesterday I was at the Eye Hospital for a pre op. assessment. I'm going to have surgery on a bit of membrane at the back of my right eye which is wrinkled up and distorting the vision. It's day surgery but I have to go prepared to stay if necessary. From what the nurse said I gathered that I might not have to wait long for the op.
I also did a big shop on the way home from the hospital, it's the first big shop since before Christmas. I called at A*di, it was freezing in the shop, I was glad to get home and put the kettle on.
I 'm not planning to go out today, there's plenty to do here.
Dp1, sorry to hear that your Dd got such a nippy response from the Dr, hope dg d feels better soon.
TA Hope your day out went well, and you had a nice lunch.
Thinking of our sad and poorly people, stay safe and warm today folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
Damp and dreary this morning and quite chilly. I've just been out to open the side gate for the coal delivery, if I don't open it he leaves it on the path and I have to try to move it!
Really busy week, we've had one event already this week and another big one tomorrow afternoon, certainly keeps me on my toes. The HT sometimes forgets we also have work to do!
The little one fell at school yesterday and really hurt her knees, poor little thing. She was upset that she couldn't go to gymnastics after school and had a good limp going on.
You're such a good help to Rob Ruby, hope he manages to get to see his Mum.
How are you doing Nanny?
Hope Showman is ok now Mehefin, such a worry.
Washing and housework fairly up to date for a change but really must do some more wardrobe clearing, only one bag so far!
Take care. XX15 -

Morning allDark and damp this morning and still a bit chilly.Had a lie in until after 6 this morning for a change. Was looking forward to going to see Jason Manford at the beginning of next month but received an email yesterday saying because of commitments etc the date has been changed to March 2026!! So have got to wait another year now, crazy.Nothing planned today so I'll wish you all well and hope you all have a peaceful day x14

Morning all - thanks for the start @Scarlet. My fingers are crossed that you don't have to wait too long for the op.@Camelot - what a shame for your little one, give her a gentle wee hug from me. Skint knees are always really painful.@Ariel - where's the tissue stuck?@SO - are you OK?After my nail appointment yesterday I decided to go shopping. After my 50 minute drive I realised that I didn't need anything much so picked up a bag of tenderstem and one of coriander before coming home. I felt better for being out though so it wasn't really wasted.
Incidentally, my nail technician (if that's the right term) is planning to go to Asia for three months after three weeks in USA starting in June. She's just back from spending Christmas and New Year in Norway learning to snowboard. I really admire her energy and enthusiasm for travelling when she's young. That, of course, decided for me that I'd have a break from BIAB whilst she's away. I had already been contemplating a wee hiatus and had discussed it with her before Christmas. I'm hoping that my nails, which were in a terrible state, have recovered.
This morning is the pool exercise session again - these weeks are really flying by. I think that I'm ready for the weather tomorrow and Saturday. We have been 'upgraded' to an amber warning, well most of Scotland has, and things don't look wonderful for a lot of England / Wales or Ireland either. Phone power banks charged, head torches all got fresh batteries in November, I've got plenty of logs indoors and I'll fill a couple of flasks with boiling water early on. I can get boiling water from on top of the woodburner if needed. Our electricity infrastructure has been heavily strengthened here in the past few years with many many pylons now marching across the landscape so, bar the odd wooden pole getting hit by a tree, we should keep power. Probably!Hugs to all our poorlies and sads.13 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Sounds like you are well prepared for the expected weather. I do am going to look out candles as we are prone to power cuts in our new house.Yesterday was a blur of activity. BIL visited to see the garden (in the light!) and gave us some ideas for the en suite. I spent a long time listing things on Bay of E and V!nted for our charity fundraising too. A quieter day today with not much planned. We planned to see JM at the Orchard a few years ago @Chrisca50. Got front row seats only for it to be rescheduled and then sold out before we could rebook. They cited TV commitments which garners a higher fee. Have gone off him somewhat!
Annoying about the phone @arielgirl - can you gently poke it with a pin? Could be fluff from your pocket/bag?
Hope DGD is brighter today @dp1 x
How are you doing @nannywindow? X
Hope you can have your eye procedure soon @ScarletRibbons x
Hugs to all our poorlies. Have a good day all

Good morning
Dull and dreary out, but rain forecast later.
Thank you for your suggestions re the coconut milk. Unfortunately DH doesn't like rice, sweet or savoury, but the custard idea seems good. I also wonder if I can use it in our porridge? I've got it from a neighbour who is very fussy about bb dates. They are dated bbe Jan and would have ended up in landfill, and I couldn't bear the waste.
Hoping to take big dog for a long walk today, it's his 3rd birthday, treats today for him.
Only the usual chores today, I tidied the tins cupboard again yesterday, things are getting desperate!
Hope Rob got to visit his mum, and she is improving. Hugs to all our poorlies. Have a good day all.10 -
Morning all
Very cold here this morning with a sharp frost I have put the heating back on for an hour or so. I am off to collect Rob this morning and take him to work, the SW didn’t think it was a good idea to go and see his mum yesterday as he got upset when she went in the ambulance, I would have thought he would be reassured to have seen her but the powers that be decided no. I washed all of the clothes he had on yesterday I put some of OH’s clothes on him in the meantime, I also washed his coat which I don’t think has ever been done so he went home smelling a lot fresher than when he arrived, I am still not sure if I am working tomorrow so will hopefully hear today.
Dinner tonight will be tacos, I must get the mince out after this I’m hoping OH will cook as he has the day off and I will be in late again.DD was on a late last night and early today so she will be shattered.
Camelot I hope little ones knee is ok, I love the way they put a fantastic limp on when knees are hurt 😂
Nanny hope you are ok xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning all
More murky weather preceding the storm here. Yesterday had a lovely couple of hours of weak sunshine - had a good walk along the river, made longer by dropping a glove and having to backtrack half a mile or so.Weather station all ready, just needs new batteries (no one thought of that 🙄).
Today we’re getting the rain, tomorrow high wind with bright sunshine - the weather is definitely all over the place; my eldest god-daughter lives in South Carolina and they’ve had snow, practically unheard of!Anyway I prepped loads of sewing projects yesterday so the machine will be out. Beef casserole out of the freezer so just some veg and yorkies to sort out.Hope everyone stays safe and dry and warm

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I had a rare almost good night's sleep last night but it was spoiled by an episode of cramp in my foot/lower leg which took an age to clear. Amazingly though I went back to sleep again afterwards! It's calm, drab and miserable out there but the weather for tomorrow has been upgraded from a yellow warning to amber. So more worried than I was already.
I had a good day out with bus buddy yesterday and she coped very well with her first outing other than the weekly supermarket trip which she has managed since the new year. Needless to say she is treading very carefully since her tumble.
Today I have my last dental appointment after the lengthy treatments I have been having since my tooth snapped off on a Haribo in November and brought to light other problems to be dealt with! Today will be a painless appointment as it's for the fitting of my new plate with a tooth to replace the snapped off one. No more Haribo's now as they proved an expensive treat!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. NAN I hope yesterday went as well as it could. Take care all and stay safe xx
