If you don't want to use the portal, try these: -

    customerinfo@bwlegal.co.uk
    complaints@bwlegal.co.uk
    disputeresolution@bwlegal.co.uk

Sometime info@ works for loads of solicitors

I didn’t know there was a portal, newbies thread suggested emailing the solicitor.

My suggestion would be to update the thread to reflect this.

    Isn't this overkill spoon-feeding?

Do I really have to tell people about portals that only some solicitors use and which people can see for themselves exist because the solicitor tells them?

If I do that, I'd have to cover all ways to contact all solicitors. This is a self help forum so I think there is a limit. The NEWBIES thread is uber long anyway.

Indeed all legal firms use portals which are very obvious if you go on any of their sites

I don’t understand from these comments why must everyone know about these portals?
I am only following guidance which says to email a solicitor, if you really wanted people to use the portal or whatever means, then it should be mentioned in the newbies thread.

How is it better that every user who follows the thread, can’t find a way to contact said company, comes back here, makes a thread asking how to contact said company. And then i am sure someone will say, “did you read the newbies thread”

Almost nobody here has asked about portals, after all, the solicitors letter tells you to contact them using their portal. Dodgy PCN or not, it's a valid way to contact any law firm. Perfectly safe.

I get what you mean but this an unimportant tweak for the advice thread; there are a few issues people raise occasionally, but I just don't have time to make minor edits very often. It's for good reason: I have more pressing things to do to get the government to get the Code of Practice right, with proportionate PCN caps and a ban on the fake fees.
