PPC wants name & address of driver - CPM

I received PCN from CPM and i have already appealed as hirer of the vehicle without naming the driver.

They sent an email acknowledging my appeal but they ‘cannot verify’ the info provided. (Whatever that means)

They are requiring name and address of the driver in order to deal with an appeal and to submit the information by X date.

Do I ignore this and wait for the POPLA code or submit the same appeal but also reiterating that I won’t be naming the driver?

They do write at the end that if the info is not provided, ‘our normal collection process will begin’.
Does this mean debt collection? Would appreciate any advice.

*This is bizarre as I have not had any ppc ask to submit info after making an appeal

You won't get a POPLA Code from an IPC firm like UKCPM.

Do not try the IAS. ignore UKCPM.

    Does this mean debt collection?
Yes...so what! Is the answer to that!

Sit tight. Do nothing except the below.

By going confidently into the 'ignore' stance, the only steps to take (because you MUST check every letter) are:

    - Tell them if you move house within 6 years.

    - Ignore the tedious £170 threatograms shown in pictures in the 4th post of the NEWBIES thread.

    - Come back if you get a solicitor's LBC as per the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread.

Nobody pays a penny and no hearing is even needed in most cases. Search the forum and read a few cases as they are easy to beat by waiting for a claim form - it is easier than appealing!

There is no risk AT ALL in defending a court claim. No CCJ. No bailiffs. DO NOT PAY.

@hirersezn, you need to modify your behaviour.
During the last nine months you have started nine threads about nine different parking incidents.

Surely it is time to look at where you are going wrong?
    Modify in what way?

I drive for a living, around ~900miles a week. I don’t have the time to inspect every place I go to.

I would inspect every sign and would avoid private land. You can't live like this, fighting aggressive PPCs & thug debt crawlers every few weeks.

I also did a driving job for a year. Never got a PCN and I probably never will because if in doubt I'll park on street. I've never done anywhere near as many miles as you but is there a way you can use the street instead?

  • The thing is I don’t park my vehicle because I don’t need to. I pickup passengers as a private driver.

I am always in my vehicle waiting for passengers, sometimes they are ready as soon as I arrive, sometimes I have to wait 5 mins or more.

I don’t have an option to not enter places where I could get a ‘fake invoice’, which includes housing estates, shopping centres, hotels etc

And honestly I don’t mind fighting these scum unregulated companies which prey on the vulnerable for their hard earned money.

    OK, I get that.

Try to find double or single yellows on-street though. Picking up or setting down passengers is always exempt there.

@hirersezn Apologies if I've posted this on one of your other threads.

We so badly need protected from this greedy nasty industry. Please join the motorists in demanding the re-launch of Govt-backed Parking Code of Practice.

A simple signature, share if you can. 🙏
  • i didn’t receive an LBC for this pcn but i received a letter from their legal department BWLEGAL.

This letter states that they want to settle with pre approved monthly payments… blah blah

Do i need to take any action on this or can i ignore it like the debt recovery letters.

They state that if they do not hear from me, their next letter will be Letter of claim.

why is it so difficult to find the email address for bwlegal.

yes i have thoroughly searched the forum and tried to find the most recent threads.
The threads i have read say that they have stopped receiving emails on certain addresses, can the email address not be posted in the newbies thread?

Or if someone can PM me the email address that would be much appreciated.
