Smart TV Problem

This is a screen shot of the Sound settings on my MacBook. As you can see, there isn't a drop-down menu under 'Output' for you to select a different option fromt he built-in speakers.

Ok, i’m not a mac expert but from that cable on amazon note not 2024

also i wonder if the hdmi end needs to be in arc-hdmi slot.

Thanks - I csan now change the output to the TV. I'm not sure why I couldn't before.
