School trip deposit

Hi I paid a deposit for my child to go on a residential trip of 50 pound on the understanding there was going g to be a coach to take the children to and from there trip since then they say not enough children going on trip and on coach  as there was a option the take them there thereselfs to saVe money , so its now been said no transport is being provided and its up to me to get my child there and be picked up , I would never have said my child could go on this trip and paid this deposit if that was the case to begin with , am I entitled to get my deposit bk 🤔

Have you told the school yet that you wish to cancel? If so, what did they say?

Presumably there'll be other parents in the same boat who will be ferrying their children there? Could your child get a lift with one of them (with you chipping in something towards the petrol)?

Have you asked them?
I would assume others are affected and would want their deposit back also.

Thankyou for suggestions it just sparked a memory that I still had mom of the parents numbers saved in my phone from ages ago whos going and has said she can take her as her child going on the trip and offered her help towards the petrol , just hoping the school hasn't already cancelled her cus I've demanded my deposit bk but was still waiting on a decision about  getting my deposit bk because they said they would ring me and let me know I was just annoyed at them changing the plans like they did and it stressed me right out x
