Why sell things on ebay?

Hi.
I am not sure how many people are aware of Gumtree but my OH advertised (classified) his car on ebay for £17.99, someone sent him an offer so the car was automatically taken off, the person then changed his mind, and all we could do was leave bad feedback!
We then put it on the online auction, for £11.99 It was sold, once again the man changed his mind.
We then put it on Gumtree and it was sold within 3 days. With no cost for us to advertise.
I will always use Gumtree now to sell now, instead of ebay.
You can advertise your item by city or advertise on them all.

gumtree is great and for selling the likes of a car is even better as its a local market.
ive picked up a few bargains on GT
however you get much much lower potential customer views vs ebay.
also just recently gumtree has introduced premium features(paid) for things liked featured listings so costs are creeping in as popularity grows0 -
gumtree looks good, thanks. Have to be concious of rip offs etc though by the first look at it.embarrassed to say I used to work for barclays..sorry0

Surely you can claim the ebay fees back though if the buyer's did'nt complete the sale.Did you know you can get Viagra software now??? Yeah, it turns your floppy drive into a hard drive0
