1pMobile - Minimum Use Policy / Roaming Surcharge / Better Alternative?

Hello.

I understand that with 1pMobile there is nowadays a minimum spend of £10 per 60-day period (calls/data/sms). Probably a dumb question but just checking: the previous £10 minimum top-up per 90 days is not a thing anymore, right?

Secondly, I found on previous lengthy jaunts to France that there was an annoying £1 surcharge per day under fair use. I understand the policy for fair use but I prefer a surcharge per call/text/MB instead.

What might be a better alternative to 1pMobile for pure PAYG?

O2 Classic SIMs are listed on eBay and Amazon, but beware that O2 Classic is apparently no longer available to new customers.

What do you mean by “lengthy jaunts”? All ordinary UK networks that include EU roaming have usage restrictions, although a friend has spent lengthy periods of up to 3 months at a time in Spain with an O2 Classic SIM and not, so far, run into problems.

    have you overstayed?

Fair use guidelines for Roam-like-at-home within the EU/EEA.

You may only use our services, on your standard tariff, in the EU/EEA/Zone1 destinations for periodic travel, like holidays or short breaks.

As part of our fair use policy, we may monitor and check your roaming use over a rolling 90-day period. If, during this period, you have spent more time abroad than at home and/or your roaming usage exceeds your domestic usage we reserve the right to apply a surcharge of £1.00 per day to your roaming consumption. This surcharge will be taken from your credit balance on a daily basis.

I don't know about using it abroad but I use RWG mobile. It's 5p a minute, 5p a text a 1p Mb but the credit doesn't expire and you don't have to top up every so many days.
Nothing to see here, move along.

For France it would be about 10p min, 50p a text or per MB ( depending where you were calling)

RWG offer inclusive Roaming on their tariffs above £3.50 a month.

Sorry for the long absence: life etc... And realised email notifications weren't turned on!
So... Maximum stay in France for me was 3 months at a time, though I had several trips there in the same year. As mentioned in the OP, I understand the fair use surcharge but it should be according to usage, not a flat fee of £1/day regardless... Wha'ever; not planning on any more long stays...
That being said, after some research, I decided to keep my 1PMobile account for now. I recently bought the annual boost for £48 (=£4/month): my calls and texts are free, there's a data allowance per month of 0.5Gb to add to my existing 1Gb from the original standard PAYG plan (I don't use much data anyway). No pesky minimum spend now!
If anyone is interested in a 1pmobile plan, here's a £5 bonus for joining send me a message for a £5 credit bonus.

And amazingly patient? (That amounts to a 2-month set-up for a £5 referral code.) :D
Being surprised I hadn't discovered this very cost-effective annual tariff earlier, I just thought people would be interested, really, and £5 in these hard economic times isn't to be sniffed at... I did nevertheless hesitate initially as I wasn't sure if such referral links were allowed on this forum; couldn't find anything on it...
