Since initially submitting our claim 3rd July 2024, we subsequently (eventually) received emails, all stating the text below, on  25th November, 23rd December and again today (20th January) so we assume that everyone else is being treated in the same, unacceptable, manner - and despite sending them a mail asking for a more, FIRM, date, are just getting ignored - is this their way of kicking the can down the road, in the hope that we will all just go away ????                             We’ll be in touch with an update in the next 28 days. It’s taking longer than usual due to the high number of enquiries we are receiving at the moment

There is nothing 'to go away', the legal action is still ongoing and is still likely to be this time next year.

The regulators are giving companies until late January 2026 at the moment and it is widely anticipated to go back further as 3 cases are awaiting appeal and seems likely that the investigation will be broadened depending on the outcome of the court cases and/or any action the government could take.

    What claim?
It hasn't been decided whether DCA is a wrongdoing or not.   So, you are premature in your attempts to "claim".

so we assume that everyone else is being treated in the same, unacceptable, manner -
How is it unacceptable to you that your premature claim hasn't been looked at yet when the regulator hasn't decided whether there is an issue yet?

and despite sending them a mail asking for a more, FIRM, date, are just getting ignored - is this their way of kicking the can down the road, in the hope that we will all just go away ????
They cannot give a firm date as it is not theirs to set.  The regulator has already delayed it once and it may well be delayed again pending the appeals.

The Treasury is now involved as many feel that the courts have made a mistake or the law itself is flawed and may need the Government to act to avoid unintended consequences.

You just need to wait until these things happen.
