Cancelling holiday due to pregnancy

Hello,
Myself and my partner recently booked a holiday through On the beach for August 2025. Unfortunately we don’t get insurance due myself finding out I’m pregnant 5 days after booking the holiday. On the beach are now saying we need to pay £1400+ to cancel due to the flights being non refundable. My due date is September so I don’t feel comfortable going and we obviously can’t afford £1400+ when a baby is coming. On the beach have been absolutely shocking and advised I contact TUI because the flights are with them to see if they can waiver the flight fee. Surely they could resell them on that time. Any advise would be appreciated.

They are correct.
This is not their fault and it is non-refundable.
You need travel insurance for this kind of thing, which I know you said you didn't get, but this is a reason why you should.

I think even if you had insurance, many policies may not cover this.
There are potentially other options.
TUI do allow change of date and change or passengers so you in for the flight part at least, you could either reschedule the holiday or see if someone wants to take it off your hands. I don't know if LTB might be difficult about this.
The rescheduling is probably the easiest option.

You have saved an insurance premium as finding out you are pregnant is not an insurable event on a normal insurance policy.2

All down to insurer if they cover this, but definitely no refund otherwise for pregnancy.

When in August is the holiday and when is the baby due in September?
E.g. if you are going on holiday 25th August and baby is due 05th September then surely thr airline won't let you fly?
Can you not just move the holiday forward to May on the basis you won't be allowed to fly in August?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)2 -
Thank you guys. Baby is due on the 9th September and we would be going on the 6th August. I think we are hoping to reschedule and go earlier in the year.On the beach have cancelled the hotel so we are only dealing with TUI now so that makes things easier.
Thank you again.2
