They wont refund charges at the mo til after the test case AFAIK
Correct me if Im wrong anybody.
You've got it in one lol NOT to agree to further help from them or a managed loan under any circumstances.
Try not to worry to much
Ok thanks again, just felt so helpless on the phone to them, nearly impossible, so I requested a meeting at my branch basicaly so I could for some leeway, last time I moaned on the phone they did refund a one particular charge. Thing is I just though that explaining might help, now i'm not sure what they can do.

    Hi Sian, welcome!

I have made some suggestions about areas where you can trim your SOA-this should help, but it looks like you are still going to be looking at a minus each month on your bank statement. I don't have any experience managing repayments etc when you are in arrears, so hopefully someone else will be able to give you some advice about how best to deal with the bank re. mortgage especially-anyone?

Don't panic, please don't let HSBC bully you into anything you don't understand or can't afford, and remember SS is right-they are interested in their profits, not how to help you best!

The free debt charities are amazing and will give you the best possible advice, so I would recommend speaking to one of them now you've added everything up...

I hope that helps, lovely to have you on board! x

The repayments on my mortgage are actually interest only :-(

feeling very bad but need to face up to it I guess

http://www.debtadvicetrust.org/ this is the company that I originally got help from and whom said they will put me on to payplan but now I have a feeling matters may change, I need to let them know about the mortgage

also have been trying to get through to CAB with no success

    Hi Sian,

Wow, you have really got going! That's a great start, especially at such a busy time of year :T

Please keep trying with CAB and CCCS-they will be extremely busy, as a lot of people look at their finances in the new year and panic, but if you keep them on redial, you will get through eventually.

I know you've got lots to do, but the Old Style board is great, and there is an 'Up Your Income' board you might find useful as well.

    Hope that helps!

Thank you Miss Eyers you have been great.

I have been reading everywhere on here, so much to take in and so little time. Well at least I have started, the fact that people take time to help for nothing means a lot to me, i'm ever so grateful.

I rang back the Debt Advice Trust, they are very helpful and also explained PayPlan will contact me within the next day hopefully and reassured me about the mortgage being interest only. I asked wether or not I still should still call CAB but the man advised there wont be much more they can do!??

I know, it's mad when you start getting it all sorted out, isn't it?

I haven't heard of the Debt Advice Trust-are you sure they are a free, not for profit service which will be acting in your best interest? Once you start making payments, you need to know that 100% of your money will go to clearing the debts.

Has anyone else had any experience of them please?
  • Hey, welcome to the boards and well done for getting started!

If you switch electric, car ins, broadband etc go through QUIDCO for cashback... you sign up at www.quidco.com for nothing and click their click to get cashback - very nice!!

Good luck with sorting it all out xxx
