It doesn't happen all the time, and is more of an irritant than a problem.  I do wonder why it does it.  Sometimes it flashes for a while and then the normal screen comes on.  At other times it will flash and then switch off.  When I switch back on it may go straight to the normal screen or flash for a while first.  I can't see any pattern to it, for example it isn't first time it's switched on in the morning, and it doesn't happen every day.
If anybody does know why, I'd love to hear the explanation.

I get this with my Panasonic TV, but only when I switch on the TV before switching on my Manhattan recorder.   The TV is only a few months old and my old one didn’t have the problem.

A Toshiba TV power light blinking red and green usually indicates a serious internal problem with the TV, signifying a malfunction that likely requires professional repair, as this alternating color pattern often signifies a critical error code within the TV's circuitry.

Might just need a software update and it's searching for one...Check their website for your exact model and how to update it.

I don't think it's indicating a serious problem as it's done it from new, and I've had it 2 years.  It's just started to annoy me :D

The best time to repair it was under its first 12 months warranty.

A small piece of black tape over the light will cure it in that case.
However, I still think it could be an update requirement, even new T.V's need them, especially when they've been in stock for a while.

Thanks for the tape advice.  It only happens when first switched on so more an annoyance than anything else.  I'll check the system settings for anything to do with updates.  If it's there and 'on' I'll try setting that to 'off'

Look in settings, Device preferences, About, System Update. It should check for any updates and download them.

Thanks @RumRat updates are all up to date.  I guess the cause will remain a mystery.
