Air Cairo flight delayed over 3 hours MXP-CAI

Hi everyone. First time poster here.
In October my partner and I flew to Milan with EZY. We left plenty of time for our next flight. Unfortunately this was hit with quite a big delay. I have written to Air Cairo regarding EU261/04 but they are not responding. My question is, even though we live in the UK (1 British, 1 German) If our flight was from Italy to Cairo with a non EU airline, are we able to push this further if the airline doesn’t respond and if so would it be the Italian NEB (ENAC) we should contact. I want to avoid using one of these companies if possible.

Many thanks for reading this.

In theory and entirely dependent on the reason for the delay, assuming it exceeded 3 hours, a flight from Italy would qualify for a claim under EU261. I will ignore the strange idea of flying to Cairo via Italy on two low cost airlines, and also ignore the reality that Air Cairo is very unlikely to have any concept of EU261 and even less likely to pay up, then yes the Italian NEB would indeed be your last hope, unless you plan to sue in the Egyptian courts, which I do not recommend!
  • Yeah I think the delay was 3:28 in the end. We did it on a budget 😂😂 Lesson learned this time. Next time we will fly direct. The original plan was to fly into Sphinx but had to revisit the idea after a rescheduled flight. Anyway, thank you so much for your response. I appreciate it 👍🏼
