FTTP Install

My sky broadband deal is coming to an end and been looking at cheaper deals for full fibre,I understand that the hub has to be installed to the nearest socket outlet but if I want it elsewhere, which would need more cabling etc, would I have to pay for the extra works.

Who would be installing the cabling?

Once you know that, ask them.

Cheaper full fibre deals from who ? ,

If by the hub you mean the broadband router , then chances are wherever your router is now , it can remain there  after FTTP is fitted , so it’s already connected to power, so no difference, with FTTP you get another powered box , the ONT , this can usually be fitted wherever is convenient for both you and the installer , if that position is different to the router , so ( as an example ) the ONT fitted in the hallway , but the router is in the living room , the connection between the two is an ordinary Ethernet cable , or if it’s not a ridiculously long and complicated route ( along skirting boards, over door frames etc ) then chances are  they will  install the ONT close to the router so you would need a spare outlet or an extension cable or socket doubler .

who you intend to use , Openreach or an Alternative Network ? , with Openreach they will normally cable upto 30m from the place the cable from outside ‘hits’ the external wall to the location of the ONT as a standard installation, Alternative Networks you would have to check with them , if Openreach FTTP is available,  and you upgraded to FTTP with Sky or moved to another provider using Openreach FTTP there is no charge to you for the upgrade , it may start a new minimum term though .
