The manual says
We recommend using a USB hard disk that supports USB 2.0 or later and 5,400 rpm or higher. Please note that RAID-type USB hard drives and USB memory are not supported.
That's what made me think I can't use a USB stick. Not sure what they mean by USB memory.
Is yours just a USB stick? what size and type?
I'm not tech savvy!Samsung flash drive Titanium Gray 64 GB
Sorry, I confused myself, I used the Sandisk for something else because it didn't work on the TV.

Thank you very much!
When I plug the one I have in and select a program from the guide, there is no option to record. The only options are schedule viewing and view details . Thae manual says there should be an option to record. Will that option become available if I plug in the correct USB drive?
I am worried that I won't be able to record whatever I plug in.0 -
Further to the above, I phoned Samsung and they told me this model does not support recording. Disappointed after being given conflicting information.
As an alternative could I attach a cheap freeview recording box?0 -
The user guide says about recording "This function may not be supported depending on the model or geographical area."
When you bought it what did the info say about recording ?0 -

if it were me I would go back to Currys, double-check it records, get the exact model no and check the one you have is the same
Currys often have slightly different unique model numbers and theirs might very well record0 -

My own fault for not double checking although I have to say it really shouldn't be as difficult as it is to find specification information.
Samsung own people don't even know their own product capabilites

We have decided to see how we get along without the ability to record. Going forward, if we decide we want a freeview recoding box, would it be easy to install so that most of the time I am just using the smart tv and then switch to the freeview box when I want to record.0
