Hello Everyone,
I am thinking of putting 10K savings
into Hodge Bank.
I was looking for positive or negative feedback views on this bank ?
I saw @Timmy1 post on the 24 May 2024
which was negative!
I don't want to have to start uploading documents to open a bank account
I just want to fill out the application form for the account and send a payment by means of
Fast Payment Service from my nominated bank account.

No bank will commit to opening an account without providing documents in support of your application, but the majority will try to verify your ID electronically and only resort to the manual fallback method if the simple/easy/quick one doesn't achieve the desired result....Technowme said:I don't want to have to start uploading documents to open a bank accountI just want to fill out the application form for the account and send a payment by means of

Furness has gone down the digital route meaning that you have to reapply for online excess needing to up load photo ID and selfie.eskbanker said:

OP is looking for a bank that doesn't need documents uploading so I don't see how it helps to name a building society that does?0 -
I currently hold a number of fixed rate accounts with Hodge and haven't had any issues, although I haven't had any mature yet so can't give any feedback on that part of the process.
Their online banking portal was pretty basic when I first joined them (pretty-much limited to checking your account balance) but they've improved this recently, so I'm presuming that I'll be able to submit maturity instructions for a fixed rate account online, as opposed to needing to do it by phone or post which is how they used to operate.
Payments into the accounts I hold were quick (pretty-much instant) and they send an email confirmation too, which is great.
When I first joined them, they verified my ID with their online checks so I didn't need to post any proof of ID.0 -
If they were once 'Julian Hodge Bank', I had cash ISAs with them some years ago and they were fine

Not sure I'd want to have an account with a bank that didn't apply the correct legal identity checks with its customers. However far down the 'digital verification ' path they go, there will always be some circumstances when copies of actual documents might be needed, so no bank can promise the OP what they are looking for.

I had accounts with Julian Hodge years ago and currently have an account with Hodge. The website is more basic than some but they are fine.0

Ours came back fine from the end of a fixed term. I did a split so some reinvested and some returned. All worked no problems.
Payments came the same time every month. I'd like slightly better rates from them obviously but otherwise fine 😂

Just highlighting the fact if OP does manage to find a bank or building society that doesn't require ID at present there's no guarantee once the account is up a running that they won't require the selfie route in theeskbanker said:
