Hi,
So i tried to haggle with virgin media for a current £60pm bill. They did not budge at all and i said i would like to cancel and they just said OK. So now plan is use the Blue light discount my sister has and set up the account on her name on the day of disconnection. So we don't feel the disconnection and pay £33pm.
I hate you virgin media, other companies need to get their speeds up in our area

I think it depends on who you end up talking to as to what they offer . I must admit I haggle every year using the loyal customer leverage (original with Telewest 30 odd years ago) and I might have been lucky. I believe there is a thread on here somewhere on how to haggle with Virgin.
My current deal is £50.04 per month instead of £73.04 (in 18 months). I've also read on here that you may still get contacted by Virgin after cancelling with a better deal. I tend to stay with Virgin as I am an 02 customer so get extra benefits having both. I have volt M250 Broadband, Mix TV, Virgin TV 360 box, WiFIPod, WiFi Guarantee with WiFi Max. Every time I think of leaving I stay as it's the most reliable provider in my area.

If you have never used anyone else in 30 years how do you know they are the most reliable provider in your area ? you obviously have no comparison data on which to compare ,2

Not one company cares about your loyalty. They couldn't care less so long you keep paying them money2

I would pay to get away from them, worst provider in my area, constant outages and extortionate. Oh and i can get on friends and family still wont sway me at 1/3 your price which is still outrageous.Lets just say i am double your 250meg and pay £21 per month with customer service, beat that. O2 useless round here again, would again pay to get away.Shop around then comment.1

Edit: if you hate Virgin Media then vote with your feet and don't use them. Freeview is available for TV and there are other broadband providers, even if they're not as fast.2 -

Thry let me go years ago, no callback at all.
Joined I can't remember who, installed Open Reach installed a line (previous was cut years ago).
Best decision i made, as ever since, I have been with about 5 different companies (as tbey operate on same line), with cashback and seemed continous connection.0 -
