If you have a smart meter, you will be able to renew.
The vast majority of smart meters communicate regularly and reliably. If there is comms problem with the smart meter, however, you will be able to submit manual readings while Octopus try to fix it.

You can submit manual readings if you wish.  I have just done that a few minutes ago and my balance has already been updated.  I just tend to do it out of habit, once a month, no real need to though.

Octopus are getting my readings but neither the In Home Display nor their minihub are connecting correctly so I don't get live updates via them.

Probably best coming off Tracker anyway, the new formula will likely make it uncompetitive.

Surprised you were allowed onto it this late without a smart meter, to be honest.  We had to have one in 2023 to renew at the end of our first term (going onto the Nov 22 tariff).

Yes. I've been doing so since October. It's a pain in the !!!!!! but means you can make sure you get the best of the price variations. The downside is zillions of bills, for example 18 in December.

If I'm reading the OP correctly, there is a smart meter, but it may not be communicating. In that scenario, there shouldn't be a problem, although usage will be averaged between reads.

Oh wow that totally went over my head, I thought they were asking in case they had one fitted and it didn't communicate.  Your read of it makes way more sense!

I suggest you keep in touch and check regularly for appointments because it can take a few months to get one. They tend to book ahead a certain number of days, and when new appointments are made available they don't necessarily go to those who have been waiting the longest.
To answer your question about readings, yes you can submit a manual reading at any time. This can be useful if you know there are gaps in the data Octopus has.
