Good morning all
Looks like it might be a better day so will go for a walk.
@YorksLass thank you for asking, meals still difficult. I did try cooking double and plating up the second meal to have the next day but I seem to have gone back to eating anything easy.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.10 -
Morning all...It's dry but grey, and feels a bit chilly in the house. Meters changed no problems but now I have decided to do under the stairs, i.e. give it a coat of paint and see if I can fix the stairs [ there are some gaps so if I take off the boarding, which looks also to be some kind of thing that isn't very healthy, some kind of spongy board] I can get to underneath the stairs. I can't go gallivanting for a minute anyway, my ankle is playing up so hobbling is the name of the game, which reminds me, I need a new stick with a right hand grip, I've been using mine all wrong apparently...OHs mums for tea tonight so I'll take some beef out of the freezer to make a pie for the weekend. I still have a botle of ale [ wonders wil never cease but it's only because the OH hasn't seen it
] so that'll go in there. Oh and side note, the little princess appears to have co-opted my flufy throw from Dunelm so I think I have to get another one if they still have them.
TA, hope you manage to get out! Gers, six week shas gone quick or is this a substitute teacher? Ruby, commiserations, fingers crossed for naps and proper sleeps tonight. Izzy, you enjoy your new nails and eyebrows. I always think about getting them done but I see some and they're like thick black caterpillars so I'm a bit nervous about getting it done. Yorkslass, well done on your bargainsmeheinf, slowly slowly etc. A little bit a time soon adds up to a lot of stuff done before long. Take care all, hugs for the poodles...

@silver-oldie - I'm sorry to hear that but do understand how you feel and know it can be difficult catering for just one. If you're going for easy then try to make it as nutritious and varied as you can. For example, if you have porridge or cereal add some fruit to it. If it's a sandwich, add some side salad. There's nothing wrong with something like a couple of boiled eggs or beans on toast with a sprinkle of cheese on top. Maybe afters could be a microwave sponge pudding or some fresh fruit.
Another idea might be to try one of the companies that makes frozen meals for the microwave. I haven't tried them myself but used to use one for my late DF. That particular one usually has a special offer on your first order, doesn't need a subscription or a regular order and will deliver to your door. There's another one that does cupboard stored meals (i.e. don't need to be frozen).
I hope you enjoy your walk today. Take care.Be kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
@Taff - no, this is the pool session. The Monday class in a village hall is the one with the gallivanting leader, she's not back until mid-February. Her FB post shows her having a whale of time travelling round India.Has the new meter been put somewhere more accessible? Mind you, smart meters don't need to be seen.Didn't realise that walking sticks have 'handed' handles. Mine fits both hands (yep, just tested it), seems that the important thing is to hold it in the side opposite to the weak leg.7

Morning all, thanks Gers- we have frost still, and the weirdest fog patches yesterday- hardly could see anything up at DGS school, yet a fantastic setting sun reflecting on a big lodge near DS2s.I had a bad night too RR,all down to an unsettled pooch, who is of course snoozing away now, lucky thing. After not having a walk for a few days due to her sore leg, I decided we would at least have a short walk this morning, & her movement seems better.I didn't get on yesterday, I went for lunch with my ex sis-I-L, which was very nice. We tend to meet up with both DHs in tow in M/cr but that hasn't happened for a couple of months due to DH surgery, but she was coming over to see her brother. Lunches out won't happen for a while as they are having a long trip to Thailand, and my oldest friend is also off on travels to Singapore, NZ, and Oz at the start of next month.I have some chicken to get in the sc, not sure what recipe to do, will have a browse after. At least there'll be no faffing about once we get back from school. I think DH is going to the pub tonight.Take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9

@Gers ahh...I thought my timing must be suspect...When i had an op on my right foot years ago I found a handed handle for left hand in a charity shop and bought it to use. Then when my left ankle started becoming dodgy I was using that too but obviously, I should be using something in my right hand. I just find the one with the ergonomic handle easier to grip than the tubish kind.

Late hello here
Yesterday was non stop - haircut, four miles with Bdog, quick lunch and then 2.5 hours hanging pictures for a family friend which was good fun! About 8pm I realised I hadn't sat doen (other then 2 hours driving) since 10am!
Anyway today started frosty and foggy and is just brightening - my plans got waylaid by a jigsaw but will try and do some outside jobs this afternoon if the ice clears.
Take care all
