Trading a Phone whilst in contract

Hi,

I'm currently under contract with Vodafone and have 8 months left.
My phone isn't charging as well as it used to so I'm looking to buy a new one and trade in my current one.

Upgrade fees through Vodafone are too high so I'm looking at trading in with Google as their January offer is very appealing.

Question is, is there anything stopping me from trading in my handset which is linked to a contract with 8 months remaining on it?

I have read mixed advice online so would be good to know if anyone has done this previously without any issue.

Thanks

As long as you continue to pay the Vodafone contract for the next 8 months as well as the cost of the new phone then there shouldn't be an issue.

Probably cheaper to just replace the battery in the existing phone though.
