We ideally wanted to be in 1 property together and all inclusive possibly in Europe but open to elsewhere.  I've been abroad to lots of places a few years ago but this is the first time as a big group. We don't want to spend crazy money but would like to go somewhere nice with things on offer for the children as well as adults.
Not sure that really narrows it down!

It would be unusual to find a hotel that couldn't accommodate nine people, although you might wish to consider how many rooms you'd ideally be wanting and the occupancy of these, e.g. multi-bedded family rooms, etc, together with connecting/adjacent rooms and so on.

However, that's for a later stage, once you've identified a country and resort - Europe is a big place and neither 'not crazy money' nor 'somewhere nice with things on offer' are particularly useful in homing in on specific options....
I was hoping for us all to have 1 property/villa and not separate rooms in a hotel, yet would like it on or near a resort and for it to be AI or HB hence why the search is not quite as easy.

This is why I am open to recommendations if this even exists....
Seems like we're finally making progress then, although it would have been better to have been up front about what you're looking for, rather than drip-feeding!  The vast majority of standalone properties such as villas will be self-catering, so if you're looking for some sort of private chef to come in and feed you then I'm sure that will be possible but it'll be far from cheap, so I'd suggest that establishing your budget remains a priority....

I've seen some high-end AI with villas but I would expect them to be extremely expensive.  I don't know what your budget would be.  A search using 'all inclusive villa holiday' comes up with quite a few options.

I had said AI at 1 property in my initial message. I did think it would be tricky hence why I posted here for some potential recommendations.

I did think it would be tricky and possibly pricey but I do appreciate the feedback.

    Thanks for clarification.
You won't get AI or HB in a villa obviously.

There may be something in some of the resort type hotels which have a number of bungalows/chalets as well as rooms

Indeed, however I suspect the prices will be sobering ?
    For example.

August is always going to be expensive, and a reasonably priced resort for AI may prove disappointing in terms of quality and taste of the food.

Depending how long you're going for separate accommodation may be preferable to have some time away from the group.

Like the others I'd imagine an AI villa is going to cost a premium.

I can't recall the name but there is a holiday park near lake Garda that may offer some of what you are looking for but isn't your typical Spanish hotel.

Is there such a type of accommodation - aren't all villas self catering ?

As a poster further up the page pointed out (before you asserted that it was 'obviously' not an option!), there are plenty of results when searching online - it's the way many ski chalet holidays work so conceptually there's no reason for it not to be viable in a summer environment, although as we're all saying it is unlikely to fit OP's (unquantified) desire for "We don't want to spend crazy money"....

I was going to say, it sounds very much like a catered ski holiday works. But what I don't know if this is available in summer time! We've had groups of 10/12 in a chalet, where the host lives in, and cooks all the meals, including afternoon tea, and wine is generally included for the meal. It works really well, and would be great for a summer holiday group if you can find it.
