Stepchange are fabulous! My best friend works for them and she’s great at her job. They’ll give you first class advice.

Can I ask when work have to give you a decision by? ( Apologies I may have already asked but can't remember)
Scimp and get by until then if you possibly can.
Well done to your DD for going above and beyond.

Guinea and cat now swopped. ✅ That’s enough for today. 🥱
The decision on the leavers scheme should be before the end of the month but honestly I am surprised I haven’t already had a decision. I am trying to be patient but I am reaching the point where I want to follow up with it. I think I might send our HR partner a message and see how I check the progress.

So decision unlikely on the Saturday 28th.
Tomorrow is 17th, so basically only 10 days at the most before you hear.
Hope the decision goes in your favour.

The posts in the main section of DFW are awesome and focus on what you can do to ensure your credit recovers as quickly as possible if you do go down the DMP route x

I couldn’t wait any longer and e-mailed HR to confirm when I might hear back about the leavers application. It seems like it is still awaiting a final Board decision and then I should hear back via my manager followed by an e-mail confirmation at the end of Feb. I guess the positive with that is they are still suggesting the same timetable is being adhered to, albeit they are now saying ‘at’ rather than ‘by’ the end of Feb. The important bit is I have not somehow missed the e-mail which is a big relief.

Big day tomorrow - Little Dog has to go back to the vets to be knocked out and have her ears properly looked at. Tbh, I’ve been able to clean her ears a lot better since last week (without her even complaining), so I do wonder how much was her just reacting because she was in pain - we’ll see how she is at the vets tomorrow. I don’t hold out a lot of hope given that I will not be able to use treats as she is not allowed to eat ahead of the general anaesthetic, but you never know. 🤞

I am very pleased to report that Little Dog made it through her visit to the vet! It took two sedative injections and a long sit in the dark, but they finally got her sleepy enough to get a line in her to put her under. I have to say it felt a bit odd being asked to just sit with her in a consulting room with the light off for nearly half an hour, but what can I say, much to everyones relief, it worked! I am not sure what she was like without me there last time but it was obviously memorable because all the staff seemed to know who she was without even asking her name and were all super wary of her (even though she wasn’t actually fighting back) - several members of staff even commented about how she was so much better with me around. 😬 The most she did was bark at a few dogs (not all), and quietly grumble when I pinned her against a wall for them to inject her. I think that was pretty good. The funniest thing was they handed her back so quickly after she came around that she didn’t even know who I was and backed away from me when they tried to give her back to me. 🤣 That soon changed once she sniffed me, realised who I was and she rushed to hide underneath me bless her. 🥰 Needless to say I am very glad she way insured as the trip today cost over £600! Final diagnosis was a yeast infection in both ears. More tablets and ear drops in the short term (plus flea and wormer to rule out mites), but the true cause appears to be food allergy related (this is what happens when I try out cheaper kibble to try and save money 😔). Fortunately the hypoallergenic kibble that the vet suggests I put her on is no more expensive than her old kibble (pre trying to cut corners).
The biggest unexpected cost from the vet trip was the flea and wormer treatments. Just over £100 for three month supply for one dog! 😱 I have to admit I have been buying otc treatments for quite a while now and spreading the cost by treating less often and buying one box per shop rather than treatment for all pets all at once. But, given the whole ear ordeal I decided a few months of vet prescribed meds was probably worth doing on both dogs which means Big Dog (who has now also started shaking his head 🤦♀️), now has an appointment for his checkup on Monday. I am just exhausted from all of it, but if it means we go back to never visiting the vet again then that’s ok with me!End ofSep-25Oct-25Brother 7,800.00 7,650.00 Overdraft owed 0.00 0.00 MBNA CC 11,481.53 11,504.06 Barclaycard CC 9,662.17 9,558.10 Fluid CC 1,046.44 1,036.29 NatWest CC 11,705.36 11,693.03 Aqua 1,127.94 1,107.94

just to say that I did manage to find cheaper online flea and wormer for my dog by checking the ingredients on the vet prescribed meds so I knew they were the same as my vet prescribed ones were becoming a bit too expensive 😱. Maybe worth a check online now you have a comparison?
