I know, thankyou. I am monitoring the situation.Keep_pedalling said:
I was recommending you do this not for the current situation but for the future when through illness or accident she looses mental capacity. It certainly made my life a lot easier when my mother lost hers and once that happens it is too late to put one in place.[Deleted User] said:
No, neither of us are keen on it tbh.Keep_pedalling said:Has your mother put a lasting power of attorney in place? If not that is something she really should do, so you can help manage her finances should lose the capacity to do so.
Mentally she's fine but physically she can't do a lot.
Going digital would solve so much but there is no chance!
I have a sister who is not involved and although I don't really care what she thinks I'm not keen on doing the PofA until its absolutely necessary.0 -

Would not imagine so. The app failed to read the cheque, so nothing should be logged. It wasn't a bad cheque (out of date, words and digits mismatch), it simply could not be read. Let us know the outcome in case others hit this issue, thanks![Deleted User] said:
Thankyou. So failing the online attempt doesn't somehow put a block/marker on it?ChirpyChicken said:Over counter will be fine I am sure3 -
by the time a PoA is 'necessary' you often cannot do it , because generally by that point there are qserious questions aobut Mental Capacity and having to go down the Depurtyship route with the Court of Protection is both long winded and expensive[Deleted User] said:

Yes I know. I'm just not prepared to do it at this moment in time, to be brutal my Mom herself will probably go before her mental capacity does.EnPointe said:

Physically I do agree but I'll still wait and see.1 -
Don't forget there is the health LPA as well, which might be worth considering if her physical health might mean that she becomes incapable physically of making decisions about her healthcare.1
