NCP parking fine when I was not parked

In September of last year I received a letter from a debt recovery company saying NCP had written to me twice regarding being parked at my local train station. I didn't receive either letter but asked the debt recovery company to e-mail me them. I'm not sure why I didn't receive two letters seeing as the address was correct and do not believe they were actually sent (one going missing is possible but two is not).
Apparently I was parked outside my local train station at 0016 and left at 1226 on the same day. I was not actually parked there. The photos show two separate journeys. At 0016 I drove in to pick up one of my daughters from a night out in London on the last train. At 1226 that day I drove in/out to drop off another daughter who was going into London. I told the debt recovery company that and asked for photographic evidence of me being there during the 12 hours I was supposed to be parked there. I told them I live a 5 minute drive away and it's ludicrous to suggest I would park there illegally for over 12 hours let alone when I live so close. They say they only have footage of people entering and leaving, however, I will have entered the day before the photo at 0016 and there should have been two photos of me entering and leaving round about 1226.
They have now written to me saying they are recommending NCP takes me to court. I am not going to pay a fine when I was not parked and think a court would find it laughable, however, I would be grateful for others' point of view please. Thank you.

They definitely would have posted them, to an address, missing letters usually go to an old address, due to moving and not updating the V5c promptly
I doubt that there was a fine, more likely to be a Penalty Notice or a Parking Charge Notice , especially at a train station, so probably a notification on behalf of a TOC like say GAA or similar
Ignore the powerless collectors letters
The alleged contravention didn't happen, it's a typical ANPR double dipping case2 -
It isn't a fine.
Search the forum for:
ANPR double dip complaint orphan images
Put in a complaint with NCP's DPO as you'll find in the results that your search will reveal.

Many thanks both. I think technicall they say it's a penalty charge notice. I will search the Forum for double dipping as you suggest. Even knowing the correct term for this kind of situation helps.1

Agreed, no blabbing about who was driving
The driver made 2 short visits, so the alleged breach never occurred, just too much reliance on modern technology, causing a case of " double dipping "

If it's a Penalty Charge Notice issued on Railway land then non payment should be pursued by the Train Operating Company (which isn't NCP) through a prosecution in the Magistrates Court, The timescale for doing so is 6 months and any judgment paid by the defendant goes to the Crown.
NCP want you to pay them instead. They're pretending they're entitled to the charge amount.2 -

Ignore the debt collection goons.
Email appeals@ncp.co.uk explaining the situation. Don't refer to it as an appeal, just tell them the facts and that you won't be paying.0 -
