    As poseidon1 has indicated, the DoV may or may not be possible in the particular circumstances of this case (to which we are not privy).

    On a personal note, I would not wish to be involved with Trusts again, particularly with all the palaver that this now involves.

    However, it may be unavoidable in the OP's case and certainly unavoidable if there is a desire to keep control over the bequests until

    his/her offspring reach what some might think of as "years of discretion".

    That said, I can think of some who had more sense in their late teens than in their thirties..... Horses for courses I guess.
