    Honestly didn't realise pallet wood was in such demand, or even that there was a big industry surrounding pallets.

    The applications for pallets mentioned in this thread are relatively minor, compared to their use in manufacturing..
    There must be millions in circulation at any one time.
  •  Loads in skips in my area. I wouldn't use pallets as the nails are a booger to remove..

    OP builders merchants are another place to check, local here (big chain) has a pile outside for people to help themselves. 

    Printing factories might be another place to look.
