Windows 11 and Microsoft Money

New PC arriving with Windows 11 and looking to continue using Microsoft Money on it. Digging around online I see suggestions that both the Sunset Edition and the 2005 edition should run, but each one seems to create some problems some times.

I know there are quite a few users of Money on here - any advice on which of the two to install, or any other tips, would be appreciated. I gather if one installation fails it can make it difficult to try the other option.

My LG laptop is running Money 2005 which was installed using Money2005-UK-QFE2.exe

I don't update any accounts online, just use it manually and the only glitch I remember is in REPORTS where it freezes on one of the Price History lines, but my Windows 10 machine does the same.

I use Microsoft Money Plus Deluxe (almost daily). I installed Windows 11 over Christmas and I've had no issues so far.

IIRC it recommends you disable any anti-virus software while installing it.

Should be fine, for me Money 2005 UK runs perfectly on a W11 ARM virtual machine on a Mac so even the underlying architecture isn't the x86 it was developed for and it works. I had no issues with installation.

If it's any help I used to use MS Money but for the past 5 years have used AceMoney from MechCAD. It's a one time $45 purchase but I found it so much better.

I'm using MS Money Plus and Windows 11 but I keep getting errors and continually having to do a standard repair.  It works fine after repair but happens frequently.  Is there another version of MS Money I can download that might work any better?

How much data do you have? I had similar with MS Money 2005 UK and archived the first 10 odd years of data and then it began behaving again, so you could try that. You don't lose any data, it just moves some of it to another file.

The problem with MS Money is that it is very sensitive to only working with compatible versions so e.g., you can use a 2004 UK file with 2005 UK but not any International, US, French or other version. Anyway, see link below.
