  • I am trying to insure my 9 year old granddaughter for her holiday as we are taking her away we require worldwide travel. The problem seems to be that she does not live at our address. Also she is taking a horse riding holiday alone.

I would recommend that you find out who the Lloyds Tsb policy is covered with and arrange cover with them for your children. I say this as it can cause major problems if you have a claim and you have different insurers. Say you are taken ill and need an air ambulance back to the uk. If you have seperate insurers it could cause problems apart from the obvious extra work of dealing with two insurers.

You should also be carefull of adding them to a policy in your name as a lot of annual travel insurers stipulate children have "to normally live with you" so make sure you ask who ever you get a quote from if there are any restrictions

I'm trying to get a europeon travel policy for my daughter through quidco then through the post office
I have registered (I'm her father)
however I can't seem to get my daughters name for the travel policy
once I sign in and enter the details, on the final pages it states my name :eek::eek:
    but her D.O.B

can any one explain how to get it right, bearing in mind I'd like to do it online to go through quidco

    thanks in advance

Bignred - suggest you'll need to call, or go to a broker, although you'd like to do it on-line, the internet can only supply "regular" policies, anything unusual or specialist should be done the "old way".

In my work I get a whole bunch of people that want to deal with me by e-mail but the law I work within will not allow it (due to US privacy rules) but people still insist. In this modern "electronic" world, just because you prefer to, does not make it possible call or go to a broker.

I got some from the AA online for my son who's 10 for him only. The cost was reasonable and it was for going abroad.

Just tried the AA on line, and they don't insure children on there own, must be with adult

looks like its back to the post office, by hook or crook

Endsleigh Insurance have no problem quoting for child only travel insurance and will cost around £10 for a 2 week trip. I have just paid £6.35 for my 12 yr old daughter's trip to Egypt next year.

Hi All - I have just tried to get Travel Insurance from Endsleigh Insurance and they said the minimum age for insurance is 18 years. I explained my wife and I wre covered by LlloydsTSB bank account travel insurance and we wanted to take out grand daughter No Joy!! Any other suggestions.
