Is there a way to be notified if someone reacts to one of my comments either by issuing a thanks or by quoting me? I only seem to get notifications when someone has posted on a thread I've bookmarked but no notifications for any direct interactions.

There are only 3 unchecked, new replies on threads I've participated in, new threads and new replies. The closest to what I'm looking for is the first one but if I understand that correctly, I will get a prompt if anyone replies to anyone in a thread that I've responded in, not just me. I will try it anyway but I suspect that may be using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

OK so tried this for a couple of weeks and as I thought, this just resurrects any thread that I've responded in that someone replies to anyone in. It is an improvement but somehow seems like a sledgehammer to crack a nut i.e. I'm getting far more prompts than necessary compared to the number of my quoted comments.

It does seem somewhat bizarre that someone can quote you and there is no means for you to get a direct prompt that this has occurred. Equally if someone thanks you it would be nice to know but even for notified threads, you can only see this if you trawl back through your previously posted comments because the system has already marked those posts as read.

Personally if I got a notification every time somebody quoted me I'd probably find an option to turn that off. Or totally ignore them.

I also don't need to know I've been thanked.  As the saying goes it is better to give (the help/guidance asked for) than to receive (the thanks).
