@Nelliegrace - "Patience" is inspired!!
I struggle to get through bread these days, it just doesn't taste the same. I'm not yet so desperate that I have the "Patience" to make my own though.No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Love this thread
This is my favourite (and only recipe I've managed to make work) bread recipe - https://www.janespatisserie.com/2014/12/04/honey-oat-bread-3/ It is a lovely loaf, super easy, last time I made it in my stand mixer and had to do minimal kneading by hand. Only problem is I eat most of it in one go fresh out of the oven and there's never any left for sandwiches...£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January1 -
@Rosa_Damascena do think about giving it a go 😀. A basic bread really isn’t that hard to do. Let me know if you fancy trying it and I’ll send you the first one I got going with. It is really forgiving 🙂.@kiss_me_now9 that looks lovely! Can see how it gets scoffed fast!!Tonight I have baked my first sourdough loaf with the starter. I wasn’t happy with my poor kneading skills ended up adding flour as made such a mess. Somehow though it has turned out surprisingly well. From watching YouTube I’m going to try the Bertinet way next time on such a wet dough. Clearly a rye starter in white flour is a fab flavour!I have also made Staffordshire oat cakes for lunch today and tomorrow. I botched it really though as misread the liquids. I was doing then on my lunch break as work from home and was distracted thinking about a meeting I was due to join😨. Made it too thick, realised when I came to make it as have made them before. I went to add more water and put too much in, so instead of having oatcakes for 5 or 6 lunches only had 2 as had to throw it away.I have also sorted my baking cupboard ( note I keep flour separately as have so much of it! ) and it is no longer a disgraceful mess. See the before and after. Mainly condensing. I only threw out a past BB lemon essence ( I’d still have used it but we found we prefer real lemon in lemon cake) and four fondant icings dated BB April 2024. Again not due to the date but shocked given the changes we have been making by some of the ingredients in it!4

Love the Dalarna Horse picture. Good getting the cupboard organized. My problem is that the inside of my cabinets are organized - but the outsides aren't. Blame that on growing up. Always had to clean the room, so I organized closets really well. Had everything in labeled boxes, 65 years later some of those things are still organized in the same boxes. But the rest of the room looks like a tornado hit.2

EcoIntent said:In other news I made focaccia today topped with rosemary, olive oil and seasalt (James Morton) great beginner recipe as no kneading and super simple.
I have a massive rosemary bush in the front garden and would love to be using some of this for things other than meat!!!

I'd be keen to have that recipe, too. The mention of easy and beginner immediately got my attention.

I just googled the person's name and found the focaccia recipe online. Need to buy the flour and yeast before I can try it though.1
