So do you think it is best not to reply to the LOC's? like you say, I can definitely see where @ChirpyChicken is coming from.
I know the advice on the newbies section is to respond by email but does it make any difference if I respond or not?

Nope. On balance, do nothing yet as long as you are confident you can stay on top of defending three claims. There is merit in letting them come piecemeal.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
