    The fee is only relevant if you hold it with Vanguard, the example Alexland gave above shows if you hold with iWeb instead then it will only cost you a one off £5 fee.

    You might not have heard of it but it's part of Halifax and Lloyds so not exactly a small company backing.

    Iweb used to charge £100 to open an account, that's been scrapped now.

    Some of us paid that at the time but it was still a great deal for no ongoing charges and somewhere safe to hold funds on a large or static account.
