HelpToSave 2nd Bonus Issue

I saved the maximum amount into my Help To Save account via direct debit every month since opening the account and have made 0 withdrawals in the last 4 years. However,  when I logged onto my account it stated that as I had not saved more than the highest balance of my first year I am not eligible for my second bonus... The only reason this had happened is because I opened my account in January and so my last payment was due in January but they counted only until December... It would have been impossible for me to save more than the highest balanceas I couldn'tpay in £50 twice...?? Is this a mistake on their part?? Has anyone else had this I am gutted and feel extremely cheated....
