Calor gas storage

I purchased a property last year that has underground 4 gas tanks supplying 4 apartments facing me. The tanks are clearly marked on my land in the deeds but calor gas are saying that in order to remove them the apartments would have to agree to get another gas supplier fitting directly. During the purchase of the property I was told the tanks are not in service and could be removed as they do take up quite a bit of land. It was only after about 6 months did I notice them being refilled and I questioned it.
Has anyone had similar issues with this as I am not sure where to turn without going down the legal route?

It's likely (but not certain) that there is a wayleave or silimar arrangement in place between the owner of your property and Calor Gas. This should have been flagged up by your solicitor when you purchased the property. You're probably stuck with the gas tanks unless you want to pay for them to be relocated, at your own expense.Miller4648 said:During the purchase of the property I was told the tanks are not in service and could be removed as they do take up quite a bit of land.N. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1
