"Bought an item from a seller last SUMMER. Not a great experience so left appropriate negative. "

Out of interest what was the details of the issue ?

I see negative feedback left for the most unacceptable of reasons.

I think the amount of pestering by the seller over rides any concerns at all about what the neg was for.

Quite. I’d be minded to edit it to highlight the pestering if possible, since I can’t think of a worse buying experience than that (and I include the seller I bought from who claimed to have refunded an item that never arrived, after dragging their heels because I wouldn’t accept a substitute - no stock of what I ordered, so potentially never sent it in the first place - in that.) eBay refunded me when I opened a case, which they clearly wouldn’t have if the seller had initiated one from their end.

I am glad you managed to report the seller. A few years ago I tried to report a seller by contacting them on the platform now known as X, as I couldn’t find a way to do it through eBay. I had ordered a book which they cancelled stating that they were out of stock. They then relisted at a higher price. They asked me not to post the details publicly and insisted it was my fault when a DM would not send, despite my showing a screenshot of my settings page showing there was nothing I could do (I suspect they needed to follow me or select the option on their end to accept messages from everyone.) They wouldn’t budge even when another user replied to state they had the same issue trying to contact eBay privately.

As a seller I am interested to know what drover the buyer to leave negative feedback.

Was it the product subsequently how the seller dealt with the issue.

This is not looking to judge the buyer just learn from the incident as a seller. Transactions go wrong but on the whole I manage to keep a cleanish account.

    Well that was quick.

Can't really ask much more from them. Will have to trust they've done something. Will consider the matter closed unless this guy gets back in touch again.

Thank you for contacting eBay Customer Service about the seller '###############'.
I understand that you want to report the seller '################' since they kept on sending you messages about removing the feedback you left them.

First of all, I can assure you that you are not required to revise a feedback you left for your seller since it is your right as a buyer, to express or share the experience you had with the transaction. We’ve taken appropriate action and we’ve also added a note in the account about the violation. The action we have taken depends on the severity type of violation and impact to other eBay members. While I will not be able to share exactly the action we have taken as of this time due to privacy policy, our actions range from informational alert, warning, restriction and can even result to suspension of the account.

If you don't see any action on your end by then, please understand that many actions aren't visible to others. To protect the privacy of all of our members, we're unable to share the action we take.  For your reference, here’s the case number ############## of your report to serve as proof that everything is well documented and all records are in place. And I’d like to guarantee your anonymity for this report.
Don’t forget they have your home address 😬
They're based some way away but it wouldn't surprise me if they turn up at my door at 11pm one night begging me to overturn the feedback that's too late to be overturned.
