Hello all, there is no frost lingering today but the sky is white, no doubt we'll get snow at some point but it may be short lived as rain is supposed to be following.
DD collected me for a shopping trip yesterday and DGD was in the car too, one whiff of Ne*t or Tkmaximus and she's there ! Not so keen on a food shopping trip though 🤣 I had a refund on DD's top as they didn't have another in the correct size so she chose some PJ's and a diffuser instead. I had a look for some ankle boots but there was nothing that I fancied.
The rest of the evening was spent watching a couple of Squid game episodes and catching up on the first 3 The Traitor episodes.
Today I have nothing planned except to get the empty xmas decoration boxes ready for tomorrow. I shall do sweet and sour turkey and turkey chow mein for tea, turkey tastes the same as chicken to me and there are still some leftovers bagged up in the freezer.
Suffolk Sue many hugs for you.
Gers I hope it was just a blip and you're still lurgy free.
I hope the poorly ones are on the road to recovery, hugs to the sad/lonely and anyone in need.
Take care all, stay safe and warm

Morning all. Last night I was treated to seeing the crescent moon and Venus just above it, very clearly visible to the naked eye. I wasn't particularly looking for it but the kitchen blind was still open and I happened to spot it when I was making tea. I wonder if it will be there tonight? There's a hard frost outside today with icy puddles but at least it's dry. I was thinking about popping to the shops for a few odds and ends but have decided not to. I can manage with what I have in stores for a while longer.
@Suffolksue - A sad day for you and yours, I hope you can have a peaceful day with only good memories. Love and hugs.
I'm feeling a little better today, apart from the wretched cough. I'm convinced this isn't a normal cold, probably a virus - another reason for not mingling. I need to tackle one or two jobs with breaks between them - don't want to push my luck! Chicken curry to make for tea, soup of some kind for lunches during the week, take down the Xmas decs (won't take long 'cos there aren't many although I'm glad I did make the effort to put some up) and sew the raglan seams of the first sleeve of a jumper I'm knitting. Anything over and above that will be a bonus.
DS has got a new smart phone and has donated his old one to me. He's more or less got it set up for me, just need to work out how to use it! Tbh, I'm perfectly happy with my old brick phone and a laptop but probably need to drag myself into this century. Still, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
It looks as if most of us will be in an amber weather zone over the next couple of days so please stay safe and warm. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.13 -
Big hugs to you Suffok Sue, I hope your memories give you and the children great comfort.
I've been out and got the necessaries, it wasn't too bad but my driveway is sheet ice so I've been along to the grit bin and spread it everywhere. Apart from some elderly and disabled neighbours I didn't do the whole street like I usually do, there are enough able bodied and much younger folk along here who are quite capable.
Stay safe.13 -
Hello from dull cold miserable Mehefinland
After a beautiful blast of sunshine yesterday and a stunning Moon and Venus night sky, it's back to same old grey! The sky looks full of it my old Mum used to say- suspect we will get rain though which suits me rather than the white stuff.
had to break ice on the water tanks in the field again this morning - it was quite thick too. Keep a hammer handy just for the job. Scoobymare not over keen on going out this morning - I know that feeling lol.
Removed the few Xmas decs I had up whilst they were dry ( the outside stuff I mean) and they are now safely ensconced in their resting place till December next unless I get a fit of throw outs as I go through 'stuff'.
Glad to hear DP1's little un had a great b/day. SS-will be in my thoughts too.
Keep warm , especially the poodles.
Hugs and spoons as always

YorksLass / Mehefin little one pointed out the crescent moon and what we thought was a really bright star when we were in the taxi home last night, I didn't know it was Venus until I read it on the news this morning. It was beautiful, I stood for a short while at my back door and watched it x11

Afternoon all, back home in the warm now DH has lit the log burner, after an early kick off for D GS, they won so he's in a good mood
One of the mums gave me a spare Costacoffee which was very kind of her and warmed me up.Called at the T near the pitch for a few bits, and a ready Chinese meal for tonight (I told myself I deserve a break from cooking.!) Spotted DB2 in there and had a quick word, he was in a rush to get back for football on tv, & that's what we'll be doing this afternoon too.
Glad the pantomime was enjoyed by all @dp1 and LO loves being 6!SSue,warm hugs for you today.Let's hope the snow isn't too bad, had enough of the weather this week. I saw the crescent moon and Venus too, lovely.Take care all.

I had a lovely view of Venus and the crescent moon too, from my kitchen window. They were both so bright I couldn't stop looking at them.
Everyone must have had the same idea of shopping today instead of tomorrow. It wasn't too busy when we went just gone 12 but there was evidence it had been much busier earlier with lots of depleted shelves and fridges.
Glad being 6 is living up to promise Dp1 and your panto trip was a success. X"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Good afternoon everyone
Just a quick hello to say glad that little one's birthday went so well.
SS you and your grandchildren are in my thoughts, hugs.
Cold and grey here today. I also saw the crescent moon and venus, I usually manage to miss heavenly sights so I was pleased with myself.
Thoughts are with the sad, lonely and the poorlies.
Take care all x12
