When you’re putting in the number, on the keypad next to the 0 there will be “+*#”, press on that and the 4 button changes to ‘pause’, pressing that will put in a comma.

press the +*# key on the bottom left and then the pause button will appear which will add a ,

I use an iphone8 for these comps and there is a Pause button if you select the symbol icon, which inserts the comma/3 sec delay.

On my Galaxy S24, each comma inserts a 3 second delay and then will press 1 after 45 seconds. Different phones may give different results so you may have to play around a bit. Thank you - this is brilliant.  Makes it much easier as for some reason I often get distracted and forget to press 1 - force of habit I guess!!  I have noticed that it doesn’t work when my iphone is connected to my car.  I do it all hands free of course using siri but when it gets to the please press 1 bit the 3 second pause commas don’t seem to work. 

PS - I don’t understand why they have the please press 2 option if its not the number you want to enter into the comp - it just ends the call the same as if you don’t press the 1 option !

I had "sorry you can only enter from the number..." A few times now. Definitely pressed 1. 
I wonder if it can be reported somewhere.
