You would easily expect to be say 2m in credit by autumn.
It's much easier to give back the excess than try and claim further payment after an excessive refund has been given.
It makes sense and its just a standard operating procedure.
Once you leave, no refund until final bill is agreed and produced.
If they did otherwise, it has lots of potential to go wrong, they don't know for sure what a customer has used and it's open to abuse.0 -
So please tell me who will verify the gas meter reading - its rather too late now to come and take their own figures from the meter - and anyway - its a transfer reading only and I'd only be fooling myself if I gave an incorrect reading. The reading I gave was exactly in line with what was expected. The readings I sent at transfer are available to see on both OLD and NEW websites and they are identical - as they should be as I sent them - there are no other readings involved - so it seems that it takes up to 6 weeks ro compare identical readings when I can do it within minutes
The ELEC meter readings were given by me but the ones that have been used are the smart readings taken by both OLD and NEW - they are identical and they are NOT exactly the same as mine - as I said they include figures after the full stop. Plus OLD supplier has already used this reading as the "closing" and billed me for that ELEC part of the final account - OLD is not even waiting for NEW to agree on the readings.
Verification D86 data flow - just a load of gibberish to fool everyone into thinking they have everything under strict control - I for one do NOT believe that for one second.

Or you just think you are at the front of the queue somehow?
It will take them minutes, just like it did you, when they get to it, but unlike you, they have other accounts to check, not just yours!
It says up to six weeks because large organisations make sure they have a backlog of work for their staff. This ensures they are always busy and have something to do.
There's little money in any of this and having staff sitting around for days waiting for somebody to switch suppliers would be foolish.
You just need to be patient!0 -

You would easily expect to be say 2m in credit by autumn. It was in response to OP's"number 1 advice - reduce your credit to absolute minimum"The implication being to do so before you leave the old supplier. So even if did - would still have to wait for the refund of the excess. At DD cap TDCV - 2m is around £300.

I can understand OPs frustration. For a recent transfer suppliers failed to agree on the opening reading even though I have working smart meters and submitted readings to the new supplier on transfer day. Old supplier eventually passed the six weeks and paid the £30 compensation before producing final bill and refunding me.0
