Only for private sellers, so now to compete with business sellers I will need to price my item cheaper to be able to sell it (to account for the 4% +75p fee) PLUS pay them their normal 14%? fee they already charge?
I thought it was expensive before but this is the final nail. eBay charging buyers to use the site and charging sellers is crazy and makes me think they want rid of private sellers from the site, which really takes away from what eBay used to be for.
And even if you match the business seller prices to include the buyer fees you'll still be making more "profit" than the business seller who has higher fees and in some cases, VAT to pay out of their selling price.
As @soolin said - too many reacting without reading the actual details.
If they are not charging that now then I take it back and accept this is not that bad1 -

If you weren't aware that private sellers had no fees, it rather suggests you weren't listing or selling anything anyway so unlikely to impact on you at all.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. This is the nail in the coffin for me.
I'm pretty much done with eBay.

I don't think any of us really expected the entirely free listings to last for ever, and we had a good run for 3 months.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. ok, so I am still not certain what will happen.
As a private seller, if say I list at £20 plus £5 postage ie total £25, do I get £25 minus 75p minus 4% of 25 ?
can I post it and stick stamps on it ? or do I now have to buy a postage label printer ?0 -

However in your scenario you as the seller will get £25 , the buyer though will see the price with fees so will pay eBay more than £25.
however when a buyer searches they will see your item including the fees, against that of business sellers without fees.
The postage part is currently not applicable unless you are in the simple postage trial, which has been running since last summer. If you want to use stamps you can continue to do so until eBay make more changes, including the payment hold which is scheduled for feb, see the other thread about this.
EDIT this is the thread about postage changes from feb

Over the years have recycled as it were a lot of 2nd hand stuff especially clothes that sometimes only sold for £1-2. Adding 80p effectively nearly doubles the cost to the buyer. I suppose at the end of the day when selling the downside is if lower price items don’t sell at all but time will tell.0
