A quickly answered phone call is usually all it takes with Octopus for any enquiries. Try it next time maybe.

... or an email asking to fix. Even if it wasn't actioned yesterday, Octopus have past form for respecting the tariffs offered on the date of the request.

So email, phone call or Twit/X message would have worked.

I emailed on the 1st asking to fix my gas at 5.74 and they replied today confirming my gas fix at 5.99.

Your 'fixed' DD may legitimately increase but your DD is not your bill.  It's just a top up of a kitty.

If you use more than had been expected, you'll have to pay more than expected.

However, your kWh price and daily standing charge will remain fixed unless the government changes the VAT rate or adds a levy.

IIRC they no longer offer gas on its own, you have to have electricity as well.

Someone said a phone call worked to

Didnt even know was a single tariff page, clicking change my tariff, I can choose between duel fuel SVR or duel fuel fixed.

However when I clicked change gas "something went wrong please try again later", so will leave it to the twitter support guys to finish it off.

I got the same error message when I tried to change tariff so I sent an email on 31/12/24 and got a response yesterday.

Sorry for the delay but something to do with 9 month wait to go back to Tracker or words to that effect. They said they have now put me on the 12 month fixed tariff but when checking I am on the January 2025 fix at 5.99 rate and not the 5.74 that I asked for in my email.

I emailed again and the reply was that Octopus can only change tariff to what is actioned on the day it changes and not backdated to the day the email or switch was asked for.
