Morning all,Thanks Cheery, 🐞 and BB.I'm having (hopefully not) an advent of catastrophe - yesterday I managed to lose the ring I made with my sister which was my birthday present from her. Gutted doesn't cover it. I retraced my steps (from workplace to restaurant) twice, checked in the restaurant and have left my number with them, checked the office and everywhere I'd been. It was a little bit loose (I'd thought, but not actioned, that I needed to put it away for the winter) and I think must have flown off somewhere. 😭I feel bereft without it.Lunch was OK - the food was excellent, but the stresses of the workplace were definitely apparent. The big boss didn't attend because he a) is a coward (as evidenced elsewhere) and b) 'thought it would make things awkward' (which in itself is awkward). Cambridge boss/friend is very unhappy about what has been going on. Did get to chat to some people I don't normally though and met other Cambridge boss's gorgeous 8-month-old (no cuddles though as she was very clingy).Bought a couple of presents while I was in the city centre too, so I'm nearly there now, except for allocating homemade stuff/buying a few bits in Berlin.Have just done supermarket order as our discount has returned. Tried to get as much of the non-fresh stuff as I can for Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. We can then cancel our Christmas delivery and I'll just pop to Sains for the bits I can't get from R'ford.Mr MV has just worked out that a colleague has applied for the same job. Mr MV is more qualified but this guy is a good BSer. I will be livid if he gets it over Mr MV. Mr MV did do some prep last night and has contacted a coach who may be able to help him (and she does a bit of hypno/general therapy too, which I think would really help him more widely, so I'm hoping they meet and he likes her).I have Cambridge meetings and work to do today, plus am going to collect the key for the two months of cat sitting my friend and I are about to embark on. (And hopefully be paid for it too.) Sis is picking me up later and taking me to a concert that Niece is singing at 😊 Really hoping today is a better day!MS things:
* TCB for an Argoose order
* Free lunch
* Using Monday's free salmon for a salmon risotto for dinner - we've actually done remarkably well at eking out what we have in the cupboardsGratitudes:
* A chance to chat to other colleagues about non-work stuff and learn a bit more about them
* The sun is breaking through the fog here this morning
* A colleague showed herself to be a true friend by helping me look for the ring extensivelyHave a good day all! (Goes off, channelling D:Ream)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

All good vibes going to MrMV for the interview, and for your ring turning up - I can well imagine how upset you are about that. I really hope it turns up at the restaurant - fingers crossed.
That is definitely an ouchy sum for cat insurance though - I thought HRH's insurance when we had her was bad enough but it's eye wateringly expensive now isn't it!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Ahhh the other person might be a good bleep, but do people know that they talk bleep. If it’s known then hopefully that will go against them.🤞

Thanks SL, GP, Beanie and EH. GP I hadn't thought of St Antony! I will ask!EH, the prices the vets charge these days are eye-watering, hence the eye-watering insurance costs. The whole industry is a disgrace. We're so lucky to be a dual income household without children - how a family can ensure the best care for a beloved family pet whilst also managing the costs of raising children, I don't know - it must be so difficult to make the right decisions. The receptionists at our vets are lovely and sympathise - they don't like having to charge so much (our practice is owned by one of the 'big six - out for all they can get' companies).🐞 Hmm... I don't know tbh. I don't think the hiring team will be so aware of the bleep-ability of this candidate (he's not awful - works quite closely with Mr MV, but from what I hear he's happy to stretch things whereas Mr MV is very much not and will struggle to blow his own trumpet in an interview). But Mr MV did speak to the recruiter in HR this morning and she was quite reassuring and positive about his application. And Mr MV hopefully is having a chat with the coach this afternoon too. All we can do is cross and fingers and hope!Sadly Niece has come home from school with a temperature (and has since had a two-hour nap) so she's not singing tonight. We are all hoping that this is just a normal bug and nothing to worry about after her recent experiences (she only had the stitches out last night - they were meant to dissolve, but didn't?). So no concert 😔ETA: not sure I mentioned but I sowed my broad beans (undercover) at the weekend and discovered I'd not got enough. So spent a lovely little while on Real Seeds selecting not only those, but other beans and squash seeds (I'll need to do another order, but that will require a proper inventory). The seeds came today and never have I been so quick to get seeds sown (it helped that the compost was already in the modules). Signs of life from those planted at the weekend, so hopefully being under cover will balance with being sown so late.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

tmv - you weren't wearing a jumper, or a cuffed coat when you were out, were you? I'm just thinking if the ring kind of slipped off but was in an arm sort of thing, as you took the jumper/top off. I realise it might have been a smooth ring, and wouldn't catch on a woollen, or cuff or something. Or you haven't got a coat/cardi with deep pockets and the ring slipped off and is nestling in a corner fold?

Been there, checked all of those places - my heart fell just as I was getting into bed last night and it hadn't magically and mysteriously dropped out of dress or bra. I think it either slipped off on its own when I was walking and waved a hand around, or possibly came off in the restaurant when I took my coat off - but rolled a long way away (it was a wooden floorboards floor, so quite easy for something to hide on, but we checked the table area and the area around it). Unfortunately, I think it probably has truly gone 😔 But thank you so much for your efforts to help me find it! xMortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
