Hey all,
Anyone ever had this happen ? I was booking a holiday package via the Jet2 website, i put in the payment details, selected pay in full, they cancelled the payment whilst it was processing saying this was now not available, i put the details in and they had increased the price for the exact same package by over £500.

That is some jump in price.
I've booked a few Jet2 packages online or in the app but usually just pay the initial deposit - there was one time the package price increased whilst I was completing the booking; they added £4 on a separate line of the confirmation breakdown on-screen. I think they labelled it as an 'adjustment'. I was slightly annoyed but then glad it was only £4.
I think once you start a booking it would be fairer if they held the price for say 20 mins and put a countdown clock on screen so you know you're getting the price you've seen.0 -
Was it a booking for a family? Did the initial booking have free child places included?
To account for such a large jump in price I wonder if the initial ‘basket’ contained sizeable discounts. When that booking failed at payment stage, perhaps the inventory within that basket did not immediately return for selection (e.g. your initial basket had the last two remaining free child places loaded, a new booking might exclude those). Reselecting just a few minutes later might have given a different result.0 -
Could the OP have started their booking process at the very end of a promotion period and the promotion have expired before they committed to the purchase? Seems unlikely but a vague possibility.I would contact Jet2 direct for an explanation.0

What does £500 translate to, in the context of the holiday cost, i.e. £500 would be a much less palatable increase on a £500 booking than a £5K one?0
