Are people aware that there seems to be an issue when porting your number to another network in so much as OTPs are no longer received? This does not seem to be something that networks or institutions such as (banks, credit card companies) advise users of . . . . .

Could you be more specific, name the network/operator where it did work and the network/operator where it didn't.
Is this the receipt of SMS (text) messages that's an issue? Are you having problems with a specific bank or CC Co? If so name them.
People may be able to suggests solutions or workarounds if they have the same or similar setup.0 -
The change of network is not “instant”. It can take a few hours for everything to settle down.
Make sure you turn off/on your phone.0 -
Not had any problems with the receipt of OTPs after porting, I am sure there would be a lot of comments on here if it was a general problem.

Most recent port has been from Lyca to Lebara. . . . . This took place several weeks ago0

OTP's are basically SMS text messages. It isn't something that is advised of as it should not be an issue as it is designed to just work. There has been no change.
Are you receiving other SMS messages OK?
Sounds like something on the migration has not worked. Not overly unusual, but start with the basics.0 -
I have ported between other networks recently too and again same issue. Seems to now be a possible so-called security protocol that is in place between networks and institutions but consumers are not being advised of this. . . .0

The OP is correct. For security, OTP are often injected directly into your service providers message centre. (Unlike a normal SMS that would go through the senders SMSC then be routed to you) For obvious reasons they typically can’t be forwarded, so if it’s injected into the wrong message centre it’s deleted. If you port your number it will take a while until organisations know the correct message centre. Much of the time you won’t notice it but some organisations take a long time to update their records.1

Indeed. As PHK has advised. I have never had issues porting number until recently. Now it is becoming extremely problematic. This is surely something that the consumer needs to be made aware of1

Many organisations are moving away from OTPs, either to authorising via their app or through the use of authenticator apps or via passkeys.
OTPs work better in countries that have a central database showing with which provider the number currently rests.0
