Morning all
Bright and sunny here but bitterly cold I doubt very much we will get some snow but I would love a bit for a day or so we are too near the coast as well ☹️Dinner tonight will be a roast chicken with mash and salad this is one of my favourite meals but dd and OH are not fussed by it so we don’t have it often, I will peel the potatoes ready after this.
Not a lot going on today We took the decorations down yesterday and it seems very empty without them, OH needs to take the outside lights down today as the weather was really bad yesterday.
Rosy well done to your ds that must have been a horrible job xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Afternoon folks. I've just had a run down to Dunelm with DD as she wanted to browse their sale. I managed a few bits myself too to put away as little gifts throughout the year, plus a pair of outdoor cushions reduced from 12 pounds to 3 pounds each - on the off chance we have a decent sitting out summer!!:I must say I feel better for my little trip out and think at last I may have turned a corner with this blooming lurgy. I've counted back and it's 5 weeks since the first cough that started it off. That's the whole of December, and more, written off with it. Bad timing!
SILVER O I agree with YL about cooking for yourself. I'm sure you would feel better for it. Since losing my Bob I always have. I have a cooked breakfast, albeit sometimes it might just be a dippy egg and soldiers, then a lunch of maybe soup and and a sandwich but always a cooked tea, with something sweet for afters. But I must admit that throughout this lurgy I have felt too poorly to be bothered and survived off the Xmas picky bits from the freezer, Christmas cake, Stollen, Mince pies and cheese etc. But today, now that I feel to be on the mend at last, all that will change! ,
ROSY when I saw on the news that your area was in danger of flooding I thought of you. Well done to your DS but it's a job he shouldn't have to do. I hope someone lets the council know.
Now I must vac up all the sparkly bits that I was going to do this morning. Nothing more taxing than that, don't want to overdo things! xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
SO, theres a cookbook called One Pot One Portion. I've just got one for my sister and one for me too because I can scale up for two, but so far it looks quite good..Basically it's as the title suggests, one portion of food made in one pot [ although you would need one pot that will go on the stove and then in the oven] but I think the idea is really good and there are some really good recipes flicking through, especially of the type of recipe that usually takes two days to prepare but these are approximations in much less time. I'm looking forward to trying some of these.
