Floss. Yes I think I'm going to have to stop trying to do things like decorating myself. The thing is I always enjoyed doing it but I am going to have to admit defeat. Same with quite a few things now. It will be easier and safer to buy in help rather than struggle and risk injury. Ah well just part of the joys of aging I suppose. but it does feel like a loss ifyswim.3

Good Morning or should I say Buon Giorno. It's certainly feels like we are in Italy rather than dear Old Blighty. I have just pegged out some washing in the full sun and already it feels like a furnace. I am currently sat in the shade, enjoying my morning coffee, listening to the children next door playing. Lovely sound.I have to say, I do love being retired, not having to commute in this weather is such a blessing, as is being able to just ride out the heat of the day with an afternoon siesta or maybe just chill on the sofa and watch a film. Currently rewatching the Forsyth Saga, (the remake). wallowing in nostalgia. I do think Damien Lewis is far too handsome to play Soames but then I've always had a weakness for men with red hair. Ha ha.Have had a busy (and expensive) month. New furniture - mainly storage solutions such as a new media unit, book cases etc. I am just waiting for my handyman to assemble them for me and then I can finish the unpacking and get better organised. Hopefully later this week.Have been busy in the garden too, it's starting to take shape. Thankfully I postponed planting trees and shrubs until the autumn because they would probably have died in these heatwaves. Smart move, purely by accident, mainly because I wasn't organised enough but things have a habit of working out for the best don't they.I haven't done much else really, not much socialising other than with family and close friends. Always a pleasure to spend quality time with loved ones. And living very simply suits me at the moment. The Sweetness of Doing Nothing. Lol. Good for me and good for my bank balance. I have set myself a target to save £2k by Christmas. So, I'm just pottering about, resting and recuperating from the move. Sleeping much better, less stress, less anxiety, good food, gentle exercise, making the most of the summer. The serious gardening and decorating can wait until the autumn/winter.I have had a couple of acupuncture treatments. They seem to be helping, but it's a slow job. I sometimes feel like I have a mountain to climb to get fully fit again. But hey it's not a race.I shall be 74 this coming Sunday.......how did that happen. It seems like yesterday that I was a dizzy teenager, just starting out in life, first job, college, dating. How time flies. 💕💕5

Good Morning my lovely friends.I can't believe its been so long since I posted. Where does the time go.Had a lovely birthday, several days of celebrating with friends and family. Got spoilt rotten. And why not.And then there have been the heatwaves........ I do love nice warm sunshine but I have my limits.......I found the extreme heat very draining so didn't do much or go anywhere, even nipping to an air conditioned supermarket was an ordeal. So I have kept myself busy by organising my home. Just about finished the study. Need to tackle my wardrobe next, going to have a big purge. 😂🤣.Raining here today. Nice and refreshing. Hopefully it will soften the soil a bit so I will be able to do some gardening, mainly weeding and tidying up for now. New planting and changing the layout in September/October.Other than that, not much happening. No news is good news. 😉4

Hello Everyone!!!What a wonderful summer we're having. All this glorious 🌞
I am being quietly productive, lots of time in the garden, getting some jobs done in the house. It's all coming together nicely, I love my new home, the neighbours are great, it's peaceful and quiet. I am very happy here.
Yesterday was the 11 year anniversary of my husbands death, 11 years!!!! Seems impossible but there you are. Spent the day with family. All is good.Hope you are all well, happy and enjoying life.5 -
I'm glad you spent the day with your loved ones. The new house sounds perfect for you.
We are getting new flooring in the bedroom done today. I feel sorry for the poor workman doing it in this heat!

Yes, it's not really the weather for doing anything physically demanding.
I am so glad I'm retired and can just go at my own pace these days. I count my blessings.
I will need to have new floor coverings too at some point. Will probably do the upstairs next year.2 -
So pleased you love the house and you are sounding content.1

Hello My lovely friends. How are we all.Well here we are, autumn seems here already. Next thing you know it will be the run up to Christmas. Lol.It's been a busy few weeks. Gradually licking the house into shape. I have started a major declutter. Today the YMCA came and picked up some unwanted furniture. And each week I remove another couple of bin liners full of "stuff". It's amazing how much lighter I feel, the house stays tidier too. Lol.It's all good. Hope you are all well.4

I think I need a proper declutter too and I am tempted to get my house professionally cleaned next time my dog is at the kennel.
I had a lovely time in Bournemouth at the weekend and we were lucky with the weather too.I'm in Brighton tomorrow and the weather isn't looking good at all. Oh well.
