Welcome to 2025. It seems as if 2024 was a drive-by year. 

As predicted I didn't stay awake for the Bells though I was woken at 12.02 by the first of a series of texts coming through. I have phone set to 'do not disturb' for everyone except family members. 😀 I watched a couple of TV programmes, recorded many more and had a lovely chat to my SIL in Oz just after their new year arrived. 

There was so much rain and heavy winds yesterday that I stayed in. I roasted the chicken, ate the crispy skin, changed the bed linen and set off the DW. 

I hope that we can all look forward to the new year and what it'll bring us. No resolutions from me, I more often than not fail in them, so will keep in mind what I want to achieve instead. Today I'll raise a toast to absent friends and family. Happy New Year to all. 🎉🔔

Haven't slept much, the wind is so noisy. Still dark so don't know if there has been any damage. Will venture out later for a look.

Will be taking all the decs down later and getting back to normal.  Very windy here at the moment but the forecast says it will die down by noon.

i hope that everyone has a happy and healthy 2025.
i just about stayed awake, a few distant fireworks but I think the weather out many off.  It’s wet and wild here today. 

I didn’t sleep too well so it’ll certainly be a slow start to the year. 

Like others I don’t make resolutions, mainly because I then obsess about them and disappoint myself.   There are definitely things I want to do but I’m not formalising anything,

Good morning and a Happy New Year to everyone. 
We stayed up till about 1 am and had a couple of glasses of wine.
Yesterday the weather was terrible, after a quick trip to Tesco we were in for the rest of the day. Today, who knows, no plans are made.
Hope 2025 is a better year for all of us.

Happy New Year, was working a night shift. Now home and ready to sleep for a while. The joy was watching the fireworks in London from another floor in my works building on my break.

Morning folks and Happy New Year one and all. I think we escaped the worst of the weather yesterday, although we did get heavy rain the wind wasn't as fierce as expected.. Or maybe I slept through it. I was in bed early but then awake early this morning. Can't win. Talking to my DF on the phone yesterday she says I sound to have post viral fatigue and, if so, that would explain why I feel so tired after the least little job and fall asleep at the drop of a hat - except at 4.00 am each morning when I feel wide awake .Grr.

The first of my little jobs yesterday - shredding - never got underway. I plugged my shredder in only to find it dead! It was fine last time I used it. It's one of those plugs you can't get into.  So the first unexpected expense of the new year so will have a look on line shortly.

Happy New Year 

Very wet and gusty outside, but forecast to dry up by lunchtime. We stayed up to watch the fireworks in London on TV, they were amazing but I dread to think of the cost. 

No resolutions made from me, just things I want to do better this year. Like you say Gers, last year was a drive by, but there are 365 days awaiting us, so let's hope they're good for us.
