Parking Eye Parking Charge

I just received a parking charge notice from Parking eye. I parked on a well known supermarket car park and overstayed by 36 minutes. On return to my vehicle I realise that I am over the free 2 hour time limit and start looking for a pay meter to pay for any overstayed period. I realise that there are no pay meters so I decide to phone the supermarket customer services asking for advice on how to pay. The customer service advisor mentioned that “(Supermarket name) customer's get 2 hours free parking” and asked if I had “shopped in store”? I told her “yes” and she said on this occasion she will take my registration plate and make sure I don’t receive a fine. I thank her and decide to take a picture of the signage before leaving the car park.

5 days later I receive a PCN through the door. £100 or £60 paid within 14 days. I decide to call back the supermarket customer services again and explained that I spoke to someone previously who assured me she would take care of any parking charge. The person on the phone mentioned there was no record of me calling and asked who I had spoke to? (should’ve took names). Long story short but the supermarket manager is saying he needs a receipt of £100 or more for them to even bother appealing it, as he claims that Parking Eye actually own the car park. I don’t have a receipt.
My question is how should I appeal this?

Parking Eye definitely don't own the car park,  just contractors enforcing parking rules , so he is mistaken or lied

    Name the location and supermarket

Just complain to Asda that their employee either failed to exempt your car or typed the numberplate in wrong.  Make Asda cancel it because you did everything on the sign.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

When you say complain to Asda, I have already spoken face to face with the manager who is either misinformed or lying about who owns the car park. Do you mean put the complaint in writing? Should I send it to their head office?

The latter,  because head office contracted with Parking Eye,  not the store

In writing to head office   ( email it or complain online,  rather than post   )

Had to hit them up on twitter as a search for an Asda email address is non existent.

Asda also have or had an online complaint option on their website

I recently saw a TV program about Asda that stated that they had no CEO and the petrol station brothers weren't running it properly,  so the old CEO stated that they really needed a new one ASAP   ( a rudderless ship  )

After going back and forth with Asda on X, they have told me to appeal to parking eye. They also didn’t confirm who owns the car park when I asked.
