Hi,
I received a reply from Stellantis.
I received a reply from Stellantis.
Thank you for your email dated 02/12/2024 asking for confirmation of whether we paid the dealer a discretionary commission for your introduction to us.
After checking our records, we can tell you that we did pay a discretionary commission to the dealer. We can confirm that your email will be dealt with as a complaint. We normally have eight weeks to send you a final response letter but as of 11th January 2024, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) made an announcement. At that time, the FCA paused complaints handling involving DCAs until September 2024. Please note that on 24th September the FCA announced a further pause to complaints handling of affected agreements (from 24th September 2024) to 4th December 2025.
This means that a firms would not have to issue a final response until after 4th December 2025 at the earliest.
We will be in touch in due course.
Does this mean a years wait, at the minimum, or is this a cop out?
TIA

Does this mean a years wait, at the minimum, or is this a cop out?It is what it says. The FCA suspended the complaints process on this until 2025. There are ongoing court cases and they need to see how those go. Indeed, expectation currently is that it will be pushed back further into 2026 or even 2027 given the appeals process through the various levels takes.
